Now Brandon’s policy with respect to sanctions has half the world’s population looking to do international trade with something other than the dollars they used in the past. And yes, China, India, and Russia is over half the population. When the dollar is no longer  the defacto international currency, then the majority of dollars that are in existence, which aren’t inside the US economy will come back into the US economy. What will that do to prices?
This is how Putin can win this war even if he loses. He wanted to destroy the US dollar and the power it gives the USA, but he wasn’t able to. Well until  our president handed him this.
Of course anything that shows a possible Russian win is propaganda, at least that’s the acceptable Ukraine position in this thread. Maybe Zelensky is smarter and playing the game with Putin? When the dollar dies commodities will skyrocket and Ukraine exports a lot of commodities like Russia.  Could be quit profitable for the leader and savior of Ukraine…

If this does become a victory it's Ukraine's victory and there's alone. Sure the west has given them missiles but they did in it their own interests and only after the Ukrainians had made a stand. As far as I know the Baltic states and Poland were the only to offer means aid before the war. I think the western leaders at least the political ones thought Ukraine would fold up and were perfectly happy to let it happen. Possibly even were going to get their 10%. I'm surprised you wrote that. If you buy what you ordinarily use there is very little write-off of preps.

Eg You like a particular type of spag sauce ? Buy a bunch of that. Not the cheaper version that you don't like. Like Ritz crackers ? Buy a fuckton of those, not a bunch of hardtack.

With what army?

Just wait another 20 years, and they'll have one. Since apparently no one is going to stop them. We might hammer Russian troops by providing weapons and supplies in Ukraine now, and watch them "win" anyway by Russian standards. Next, they'll expand again after they've rebuilt their shitty but numerous forces, and we'll offer more supplies to the victims?

I dunno. It seems like this is some form of a turning point. What we're turning into? No idea.

We didn't put Poland in anything.  They are near Russia and their country has been invaded before.  If they are still relying on someone else to keep them safe that that is a problem of their own making.

Poland needs to grow a pair and strike back at Russia.  If Russia can claim invading Ukraine because they didn't want NATO on their border is a valid reason then it is a valid reason for Poland to go into Ukraine and fight Russia because they don't Russia on their border.

He does make some interesting points but a few things he says are a wat.jpg moment. For example:

7:30 The boomers retiring are the single biggest factor in inflation.

Clearly economics are not his strength.  Inflation exists because of an accountable central bank that prints without limits. Has nothing at all to do with any social group.

2:55: The Cold War ended 30 years ago

No it did not. It never ended. The virus went into hibernation only to emerge once again, as evidenced right now. There is a cold war RFN and the strain is way more aggressive and dangerous than anything from the 70's or 80's
I would not be all that surprised to see the situation spin out of control. e.g NATO shoots the wrong thing by mistake, or Kremlin does.

This right there shows he doesn't understand the modus operandi of the Soviets.

You can take from his information any way you please, everyone who watches it will have varying levels of agreement or disagreement. Overall it's a good watch.

Any success the Army has here in working with the Ukrainians is going to be due to the fact that they didn't attempt to turn the Ukrainian Army into a shittier version of themselves.

Not that they certainly wouldn't have if the funding had been available.

Spend $2 trillion after taking over all of Afghanistan and trying to build them from the ground up over 20 years = zero tangible benefit

Spend a few billion, toss some javelins at Ukraine and say “good luck” = practically cripple the Russian Army in a few weeks

At this point putin might just be interested in leveling the major Ukrainian cities and call it a victory.

They've been on the outskirts of Kiev poised to bombard it for 2 weeks now.

wondering if the Ukranians will be able to counter-battery artillery that shit?  enough time to prepare, they're not surrounded, yet.

Theyve been using drones to deplete mechanized forces with great efficiency.

Pretty impressive to hit moving targets with long range arty, but they are and that is good.

and maybe that's why we sent Patriot missile batteries to Poland?

Now this is a war of conquest, not national survival(for Russia) and Putin is no Stalin and they can't build or refurbish T-72s as fast as T-34s but I don't think we're anywhere close to Russia's ability to absorb and replace losses.  Here's hoping I'm wrong.

If I may, just throwing in that the mechanized stuff Ivan was using back then was new. Literally rolling off the production lines into battle, like at Kursk (and it still broke down at statistically significant rates). Add in more complicated designs now and sitting unattended for God knows how long... maybe it's impressive as much of this stuff works as it is.

Anybody remember something like this?:  Since the Germans trained and worked with the Soviets during Weimar due to treaty restrictions, I remember reading somewhere that the Russian tanks (maybe even the T-34) were either mostly German designs or highly derivative works, like the AK47 turned out to be. My memory is fuzzy on it these days...

The longer I watch Russia's moves, the more I suspect they had hopes of colonization. Like old school, "You go away, this is ours now." type shit.

If you wipe a city off the map, it's likely there will be a need to rebuild it. If you're so strapped for cash that you're considering colonization as a viable option... It's likely you ain't got the scratch or the time for such things.
