Here is an article which has info about leftist Gonzo Lira being promoted by Alex Jones and crew https://www.firearmsnews.com/editorial/conservative-sympathy-for-russia-in-ukraine-war/458986 . Also,  Tucker Carlson's friend and Russian expert Clinton Ehrlich (former Russian government employee) did an hour long interview promoting Lira's bullshit if one is interested it's easy to find.

LOL The grenade throw @1:18 landed right underneath the van where the two russians were taking cover and one manged to grab it and chuck it towards the group of bodies.

Looks like the score at the end was about Ukraine 10 - Russia 0 with one Russian survivor left to tell the story and bemoan the drone flying over his head.

There was at least 3 kicking around at the end, and two bodies were gone from where they were at the end of the video.

That’s part of it.  Certainly a lot more of the ships’ armament is vulnerable in a way that wouldn’t be tolerated in a western design.
Other contributing factors are probably:
Poor operational planning
Poor training
Poor crew readiness/overconfidence
Poor practices (possible fuel in and around the cutter)
Material/maintenance defects in the ship, like door seals, pumps, etc.

I've heard that argument too. Could be. But if so, why destroy entire cities along with infrastructure? I guess that's plan B since the Ukrainians didn't greet them with open arms during the initial invasion stage.

Thought exactly that.

Maybe they are the "Pot of Crabs" philosophy.   "We couldn't have our own independent nation because the Russians Stomped Us, so we are going to make sure no one else can have their own independent nation (while taking Blood Money of the same Monsters who crushed their own nation & killed their own people).

That's funny, I just had a medical doctor friend of 10 years who is a conservative Charasmatic Christian and another friend of 40 years who is also a Charismatic Christian, tell me that this is all bullshit and that the video footage is from Afghanistan and that the Ukrainian army are killing their own people. They both also said that Putin is the good guy and that Ukrainians are all Nazis run by the CIA.

No shit, many conservative Christians are rooting for Putin and deny all this.

Pretty fucking sad.

Just heard a Christian talk show this morning called What's Right What's Left where the host, a pastor, had a guy on spouting the same bullshit. The pastor/host had been raising money for some Christian groups in Ukraine.  I wonder if he will stop.  (I didnt hear the whole episode and will have to check on who the guest was.)

So, if anyone wants to know why I post so much info about Kremlin propaganda affecting conservatives in the USA, this is why.

Yes, they are working on systems to stop swarms and have systems to stop cruise missiles. Something large enough to reach a ship and hurt it is by its nature expensive.

Missiles can be jammed, countered, or shot down, and the technology to do so is improving with each passing year.

Surface ships have excellent force projection, escort, and security capabilities.

Just like with tanks, don't judge the efficacy of surface ships based on the outcome of a 43 year old shit heap operated by one of the world's least competent militaries.

Must be talking about 1945. The Red Army was a brute at that time and after 4 years of fierce fighting, taking hard lessons from the best (Germany) they figured out a few things. But that was against a badly beaten, under supplied Germany so who knows. I think large scale frontal attacks are the only thing they were EVER good at. Not counting savaging civilian populations.

You can say what you want about how much American ground forces “defeated the Nazis” but without US Strategic Bombers and high explosives all of Europe would be speaking German and Hitler would have died of old age at his Eagles Nest in 1975.

It's not about money.

We tailed that thing around back when it was called the Slava, in the 80's.  They could  carry one hell of a payload, potentially 16 Nuke cruise missiles

LOL, that is fair but when you consider 90% of the replies in this thread those morons actually needed a Captain Obvious explanation

Just heard a Christian talk show this morning called What's Left What's Right where the host, a pastor, had a guy on spouting the same bullshit.

Swarming missiles that cost $1-4m isn’t going to be common except by someone like China.

I know.  I just wish there was a way.  Or a way to get heavy weapons into the hands of reinforcements that could come in and relieve them.

That fell apart and I suspect plan B was to aggressively replace Zelensky.  Basically, Ukraine called their bluff requiring destruction of some infrastructure in this attempt.  They need a coward to demonize and not a Martyr to build a resistance around, Zelensky and the Capitol weren't bombed.  This plan also failed.

Now with the replacement of the Ukrainian state off the table I suspect plan 3 became seizure of large areas of Eastern Ukraine and eventual "peace keepers."  We saw extensive deployment involvement of the Rosgaurd (sp)  This meant no longer caring about keeping certain cities or population centers.  This plan failed.

They're left with the south eastern oblasts and Crimea.  I suspect they're attempting to take and hold a land bridge and the separatist regions.  I don't think this looks good for them based on Ukrainian statements regarding "we're not negotiating for territory."   I expect they'll try for another offensive, but Ukraine benefits more from time than Russia.  Entrenching, defensive works, evacuation of civilians- vs an economy that should start to feel the sanctions profoundly in the coming month or two.

If this fails I expect they'll try to hold the separatist oblasts and Crimea.

If that fails they'll try to hold Crimea.

If all that fails- the Phallic victory remaining for Putin is "we got the Nazis, you're welcome" And whatever territory they can keep.

I think you’re right. Plan after plan fails which would explain changing narratives and poorly executed battle planning ever since. Basically got their hand caught in the cookie jar and trying to wrestle it out via different ways.

Shame they couldn't have sent more supplies before they were surrounded. Were extra resources allocated there originally if taking it was a known Russian objective?

Confession of ignorance (No disrespect intended)
Aside from Ploesti and the complete saturation bombing of Normandy to break the stalemate the only thing the allied bombing campaign did was prove we could be as murderous to civilians as the Nazis and force the Germans to become self sufficient without above ground facilities
The post war negative affects alone crippled British conscience once the public became aware of the barbarity of bomber command's intentional war on women and children
In fairness many British officers were adamantly opposed to the bombing campaign of Germany as it had no military value and was a war crime
Of course war crimes are only committed by the losers. Winners of wars can laugh at the dead bodies of children

It was a logistical hub and they had prepared positions in case this happened but when you get pushed back from a cache or one gets bombed or you use another it starts to add up to scarcity.
