He pretends to be a moron, but he's pulling a Franco.  He intends to be on the winning side at the end of the war, whichever that is.

Current leadership does not stand in front of the cameras.  That's just a puppet.

He seems to be trying cozy up to who he perceives as the winning side without actually taking a side. Similar to what he did pre-invasion.

In short, it’s very, very much like Ukraine but a smaller scale.

-Border country with different ethnicity that has been previously conquered and integrated into the Russian Empire
-Broke away in 1991, established a treaty and independence.
-Treaty discarded after Putin came to power in favor of hostility and re-acquisition.
-Brief war in 2008 with full Russian buffet of civilian terror attacks, torture, etc.
-Russia has backed two break-away regions in order to destabilize Georgia.

Since Catherine the Great took it away from the Persian sphere, Georgia was the buffer for Russia in that region. Tbilsi, the capital, was strategically significant for Russian imperialists to wage intrigue and war against Muslim states in the region - base of ops in WWI, and where occupation of Iran was staged in WWII.  Losing Georgia, even though it’s not Russian, is humiliating to the imperialists.  Georgia will take this opportunity most probably to re-take Abkhazia and South Ossetia, the areas Russia has aided in breaking away and destabilizing Georgia.

And, lol, “Georgi” is Slavic for George, which is from Greek for “farmer” and just a common name. “Giorgi” is another regional variation.

Proud to announce that in my buddies unit,.one got an award.

Salomon hiking boots and breathable socks was worth it along with other stuff I sent.

I have to admit that I was peeved but they needed it more than me.

Sold my old bMW e28 1985 to raise the funds.

I just don't feel good begging and getting all Sally Struthers but wife unit said it was divine and their was a reason for things happening.

My own truck is down for the count due to hitting a deer and I could have used the funds for that but when a buddy says they NEED it...

They need it.

I feel good now...at least it is being used.

I was in BelaRus 4 years ago with a Hungarian contingent of MoD because Russia out of the blue said their was a Hungarian POW camp outside of Minsk after the war, well over 10k are buried at that camp.

Lots of work to do....and it was sad......

1st claiming they were in Siberia when they were in BelaRus.

They aren't our friends......

They could slip in a rider to allow Ukraine to import them in one of the Ukraine support bills….sell it as economic assistance.

We Huns call them Grúzia and Armenia is Örményország

They were kingdoms that answered the call when Hungary was invaded in the 15th century.
Battle of Mohacs had two contingents that was in the field.

If this is anything it’s a false flag on himself to generate sympathy and outrage from the Russian public.  It’s another Dugina ploy.  You think that anyone with the organization, people, and tactics to make an otherwise successful attack on Putin’s motorcade is going to throw a pipe bomb?  Putin may not even have been in the motorcade.

Georgian Dream Party promises to hold referendum on beginning war on Russia

Georgian Dream Party, the ruling political party of Georgia, has promised to hold a referendum on beginning a war on Russia, as reported on Tuesday, September 13.
The Georgian Dream Party may organise a nationwide referendum on beginning a war on Russia according to a statement made on September 13, at a briefing at the office of the ruling Georgian Dream party by the party chairman Irakli Kobakhidze.

“Let the people say whether they want to open a second front in Georgia against Russia,” Kobakhidze stressed. And he promised that the authorities “will act as the people say.”

Eh, thinking this is much more likely attempt by Russia to seize control of the information space using an (allegedly) friendly Georgian government to offer and then “reject” war with Russia.
Probably the first thing that has to happen is for the (allegedly) pro-Russian Georgian government to fall.  Once that’s sorted out stuff can happen.

Dragunov rifles aren’t not on the 1989 ban list.

If you can find ones manufactured outside Russia, they could, technically, be imported.  Russian-made ones: probably never.

While they are capable as designated marksman rifles, they only come close to their potential with the correct ammunition, which is almost never used in Western testing.

They are cool old guns for sure.  I’d rather have some variant of the AR10 any day though.

The wording is strange. I've been wondering if this is more of a dare from somebody who doesn't want georgia to support ukraine in any way. The suggestion being that if they support ukraine the result will be getting into a war with russia. Something like that.

Wouldn’t surprise me….I’ve heard rumors that the current Georgia govt leans pro-Russian. Don’t know if it’s true. If so, it could be bad for the Russian kids who fled there to get away from Putin and his war.

For Russia you are more likely to die from your wounds so I’d be more conservative and say killed to wounded is 1:2.

US had 7.3 wounded for each KIA in OIF. That’s as favorable as it gets though.
