He usually does a decent job of doing as he is told, and his inner circles are so far outside their comfort zone of domestic political posturing, that they are also doing what they are told by the "professionals" (if that is the right term).In a way, it's the deep state doing what it is supposed to do, without the sinister content of the phrase. It's also helped that the Europeans have shown some backbone and pulled the advisors along. |

That is why it is very important that we keep emphasizing to them that we are not going to deescalate if they use nukes. We only escalate after any of their actions escalate. If they should deescalate first, then we back down. Have to keep it simple for them, don't want a misunderstanding. |
