Russia's largest mobile operator will sharply increase tariffs
The mobile operator MTS sent out SMS notifications to subscribers about an increase in the cost of tariffs by 12% from September 28, Kommersant writes with reference to the messages. This is the company's fourth price increase since September 2022. The company explained the increase in price by an increase in equipment maintenance costs, as well as the need to invest in expanding and modernizing networks amid growing traffic. Since 2022, telecom operators, due to sanctions and the withdrawal of Western vendors from the market, have experienced a shortage of equipment for network development. In total, they lack about 50 thousand base stations in 2023 alone, Skoltech calculated. According to Kommersant, other operators are also reviewing tariffs. For example, Yota (a virtual operator operating on the MegaFon network) will close some archived tariffs from September 22. MegaFon and VimpelCom (Beeline brand) announced a 20% tariff increase back in March. The FAS promised to analyze the situation. Last year, the service accused MTS and MegaFon of unreasonably increasing prices for more than 44.5 million subscribers and ordered them to return them to the previous level. The operators tried to appeal the decision to the Moscow Arbitration Court, but to no avail. Earlier, the Ministry of Digital Development proposed to allow mobile operators to annually index tariffs above the inflation rate. But knowing our current leadership. it is probably more likely it will be named after some major figure in the LGBTQ community. I totally agree on ship naming though. The Brits do it best. I wish we would go back to naming aircraft carriers cool names like Intrepid, Hornet, etc. instead of mediocre presidents. I have to admit, I wish we could have came up with the Storm Shadow name for a cruise missile. We did good with Hellfire! There is humor in it all. Notice that we call the round "Hellfire" and the British call it "Brimstone"? As in, Brimstone and Hellfire, references to Hell and damnation after death.

I think the systems won't perform as advertised, a lot of cope in the pro Russian corner today.
Analog of HIMARS had me laughing. The Russians apparently haven't made a real analog of HIMARS, so I don't expect the hermit kingdom to have somehow created a superior system.

I unfriended and basically threw away all of my stuff from Maxim Potenker the Russian gun writer when all he can make excuses for Hungary was that Hungary had a relatively large Waffen SS divisions. None of that is true and it barely comes down to about 7k soldiers that were recruited from Hungary in total and they were never a full strength German division so for his excuse in Russia occupying Hungary is because of one 6 month period where the Germans did a coup and took over Hungary and made it an unwilling ally to the end of the war. Fuck him for drinking bullshit kool aid. |
