Oh you want a $10billion border

IIRC maybe within the past 10 pages or so it was mentioned that just normal operation of a nuke power plant creates as a byproduct a substance used to make nuke bombs

But the immediate effect of shutting down power would be my first thought

True.  Wait until Biden finishes rubbing Iran's balls and announces he's banning Putin's oil and buying from Iran.

Based on their current performance against the Ukrainians? About 30 minutes.

Not even long enough to get through the Dos Gringos playlist.

The not only HAD a nuclear program, they also made/make the ICBMs to launch the shit.

The had a nuclear program up until the US/UK/RU told them to give all it up in return for protection.

The sickening part is that agreement basically said that the United Nations would be obliged, not obligated, to intervene and definitely not NATO.

The traditional counters are counter battery fire and air power. I suspect Ukraine lacks enough artillery for meaningful counter battery and while they still have functioning air power, I’d guess the ADA around Russian artillery units is probably close enough to impenetrable that air strikes won’t be attempted.

AND?

NATO or countries seeking NATO membership are beholden to RU?

Fuck Russia,  if a sovereign country wanted to be part of NATO, Russias approval of it would make ZERO difference to me and should make zero difference to anyone else.

Using nukes as blackmail has been getting old since the 60s

This is commonly said. But if you read the Budapest Memorandum, it's completely toothless. There's no enforcement mechanism, nor is there a commitment for anyone to deploy force to defend Ukraine from attack.

That's probably the most messed-up thing about this. Nuclear non-proliferation is now dead, unless the west can somehow seriously punish Russia and Ukraine gets all their territory back.

That many dead in a few weeks, even if they are going to resupply, a "modern" military taking those losses in that sort amount of time is a complete disaster.

Why not fuel trucks?   Less fuel for the convoysand secondaries should be fun to watch.

I’m looking forward to finding out what has really been going on in these engagement, I’m sure the true stories will take a long time to come out, but it appears man portable anti-armor and anti-air systems are working better than a military industrial complex salesman’s wet dream.

Thank god they are being used by the right side. But no matter how many heroic Ukrainian’s there are, some of them must suck, because they are people.  So, how soon until this stuff starts popping up in places we don’t want to see it?

Are there secret remote operated kill switches on any of it?  Always wondered we didn’t see more stingers used against us in Afghanistan…

Mortar will do much more damage to a fuel truck than thermite.

Thermite is good for disabling howitzers and turrets.

Yeah, the muzzle brake on the AK-74 is very effective.  Recoil seems almost non-existent compared to even the AR-15.  The Russians definitely got that design right.

Agreed.

Ukraine had actual nukes and delivery systems until well after the fall of the USSR.
It's one of the really sketchy places that got independence a year or two before the USSR collapsed... and had all the russian shit left behind.

The UN was all over Ukraine looking for stuff well into the early 2000's. Nobody was really sure the Soviet records were all that great, and chernobyl needed looking after.

This is just as bad as biden saying it's ok if it's a small incursion.  Germany is effectively giving russia the go-ahead to do whatever he wants to keep ukraine under his thumb.
