Pietenpol.

It has flown in the past but had sat for years. I paid $500, never touched it, and sold it three years later for $2500.

First airplane I bought was one of these.  Probably tail #120 or 121.  Was buying 20 a year, had the line cranking out jets on budget, on or ahead of schedule, and with no major technical issues.

We could have had that line cranking out 20/year indefinitely. If we did we'd be nearing #400 right now.  Thanks fbho...

My first was a 1954 Supercub with Alaska mods.  Tundra tires,  VGs, most of Atlee Dodge stuff. Great airplane.

My current ride is a M5 Maule with Alaska mods.

I almost bought a Mooney once but friends talked me out of it. It's a lot easier to rent. Last time I rented a Cessna 172 was when rent cost $95 an hour (wet).

I had a 1966 150 that looked like your picture same color. Bought in 1980 needing a cylinder head and annual. Got

it for $5500 spent $1500 to get in shape and flew it for 5 yrs. sold for $10500.

I got my private in a Cessna 150, had quite a few hours in Pipers, but I do enjoy the Grumman the most. And the free castering nose wheel makes parking a breeze, and the sliding canopy comes in really handy when you're sitting waiting for takeoff in Florida.

Formation was a breeze in the O2.
Loved the engine out controllability.
I could almost hear the woosh of the rockets leaving the launchers.
I flew with 5 pilots who flew her in combat.

You all have awesome aircraft.
