Still get the paycheck, the dental plan and the retirement, but don't have to deal with the public, except for writing reports and taking statements. I guess it would get depressing to hear the victims and their families give statements and know that nothing would be done to investigate them, but if you don't want police then you don't get police. I think of it as giving the people what they want good and hard. I guess it is a passive-aggressive response but in this situation there aren't many alternatives. |
