I suspect the answer he'd come to is arming commercial ships.

Theres a ton of modern cargo ships available and sailing now - eliminating the biggest production bottleneck. They are gigantic, allowing them to both hold a lot of munitions and making them very hard to sink. We seen the cargo ships hit by Houthis mostly survive, and gigantic Kh-22 russian missile hit a Turkish grain ship today without sinking it.

Mount some Patriot etc GBAD and radars on the front, a whole bunch of Andruil / SpaceX low cost cruise missiles in the middle, and a few helicopters in the back.

Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB) has announced its decision to revoke the accreditation of six British diplomats in Moscow whose actions allegedly bear signs of "intelligence and subversion."

The FSB said it had documents that allegedly showed that the British Foreign Office's department in London responsible for Eastern Europe and Central Asia was tasked with "ensuring Russia's strategic defeat in the war against Ukraine." The Russian intelligence service also claims that the documents allegedly confirm that "London coordinated the escalation of the international military and political situation," according to Russian propaganda media.

In addition, the FSB said that Russia would demand that other British diplomats leave the country early "if similar actions are detected."

The problem has gotten so big, that someone who is truly fiscally conservative - meaning, someone who wants to minimize debt & deficit - must accept tax increases of some kind. That's why it's gotten so hard to find a 'fiscal conservative.' You can't cut your way out of this mess, not really.

And this is just to maintain the current level, ignoring the fact that Defense is actually underfunded as a percent of GDP in historical terms.

Obviously with all the Democrats China spying scandals, China is happy to encourage that.

It's not just the left. Fiscal conservatism is dead in general, and it has been for quite some time.

Yep. The debt can only be addressed with large tax increases plus reduced spending.

25% cut across the board in discretionary (non social security + medicare) federal spending including Defense

+10% federal sales tax (ala europe VAT)

+$0.50 a gallon gas tax

Import tariffs 10% across board outside NAFTA, a lot more on China

+10% tax on remittances

Capital gains tax raised from 20 to 30%

Federal legalization of marijuana, $1 a gram tax

Federal Lottery, opened to all global citizens for bigger prizes

etc

A pretty painful level of austerity, coming at the worst possible time.

First, the US Army trains 19 year-old midwits to use these systems over the course of several weeks. The idea that Ukrainian troops can't be so trained is foolish.

Second, contending that Ukrainians are indeed to stupid to be trained to use complex western systems is exactly the kind of condescending bigotry that is typical of Muscovites toward the knuckle-dragging kholkhols, so it makes perfect sense for Putin to say that.

That is not correct and not how the US military works. They go to basic training and then AIT. Then they go to their unit and then those “midwits” learn from guys who have been doing the job for decade. They spend many months or longer learning their “system”, hours and hours in the field training.

The US military spends a ridiculous amount of money to train one soldier. Ukrainian troops getting trained in Europe only get a fraction of the training our guys do.

P8, FOD the engines would be my guess.

I don’t know why that isn’t taken as an attempted shoot down. FOD the engines at that height on purpose is no different than putting an A2A missile into it.

China knows the west are pussies.

Say they FOD that on video how it is and the P8 crashes.

What would we do?

Honestly we should send one warning to China that if an ATTEMPT is made to destroy manned aircraft (to include dangerous flying, dumping fuel, chat, etc) then we will shoot down your offending aircraft immediately. But both you, me, and them know we won’t.

We are pussies….no balls.

It will keep happening without consequences.

I met with foreign ministers of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis @GLandsbergis and Poland RadosławSikorski @sikorskiradek.

We discussed important issues, including Russia’s ongoing terror, the need to use long-range weapons against military targets on the territory of the aggressor state, the implementation of bilateral security agreements and the Peace Formula, preparations for the second Peace Summit, and accelerating Ukraine’s accession to the EU and NATO.

We are grateful to Lithuania and Poland for standing with us from the very beginning until our common victory.
