Had no idea there was a star wars fighter game coming out. I just went and watched acouple previews and gameplay demos.

Apparently you can't play as have a white male character.

I'm sure the black female space fighter simulator crowd is a large enough audience to justify the massive representation they have in this game...

Might not mean as much to people...but Kevin McKidd as Fenn Rau would be cool too.

I thought from how Season one was described that most of the time it was one of the other two guys in the suit on set anyway and Pedro was mostly doing voice work?
Link Posted: 9/23/2020 3:34:12 PM EDT
[#15]
It's dumb if he leaves the show. It only hurts himself.

They can keep the show going with stunt guys and hire a voice actor that sounds like Pedro, and NEVER take the mask off. I suspect that if he stays they'll eventually take the masks off more regularly. Mostly because the mask on always is such new thing compared to how Mandalorian culture was portrayed in Clone Wars & Rebels.

There's a missing piece to the story we don't have.

1) Din Jarrin's Mandolorian group/clan is an offshoot of primary Mandolorian culture, which has stricter rules and approaches it more as a creed than a race of peoples. And people born on Mandalore have a different approach. Just look at how Mandalore was depicted just 30 years prior (Deathwatch/Clone Wars era).

2) Something catastrophic happened after Gar Saxon's death that decimated Mandolirian culture (likely the thing that brought the dark saber to Moff Gideon's hands). Bu this has to be more than just an occupation. This would have to be a thousand times worse than the Siege of Mandalore. Like there was an uprising and the Empire pulls the genocide lever and starts exterminating Mandolorians en masse.

I suspect that it's option 2, and Mandolorians in the post ROTJ era are now super rare (just like Vulcans in the Star Trek Kelvin timeline). Hence the creed not a people approach.

EDIT: There's also still a huge part of the fanbase that wants Kennedy OUT, so this could all be rumor to damage her reputation (not that we need rumors for that). I saw an article yesterday that the "Lucas Cut" of Rise of Skywalker may be coming to Disney+, which would basically be a completely different movie. As much as I dislike the sequel trilogy, Disney would have to declare one canon and the other not. I'm not wile about retconning at that level.

Pretty sure this has to do with unlocking the clone technology. The Emperor is not happy with his current incarnation and wants to perfect it. Hence Moff Gideon and crew being so well equipped after the fall of the Empire.

The Mandalorian series seems to take place between Return of the Jedi (where Yoda dies/disappears, and the Empire falls), and the latest trilogy (Force Awakens, etc. where the First Order comes to power).

The Child is obviously the same species as Yoda. Now the question is - are they force-sensitive as an entire species?

Yeah it's dumb. Unless his group of Mandos was some sort of weird splinter cult, and different from those in TCW and Rebels. But that seems doubtful.

It's really hard to say at this point. It sounds like Mandalore was destroyed and it's people wiped out.

Who knows how many of Mando's group are even ethnic (?) Mandalorians. Maybe they're predominantly foundlings and, like you said, they're a cult of sorts.

I'd bet that this is addressed next season. I can't imagine Favreau and Filoni leave this detail open...

Interesting bit of canon.

The original Star Tours, a ride at most of the Disney Parks, was set a few years after ROTJ. In the original version of the ride, your pilot took you to what Disney/Lucasfilm dubbed the prototype for the Death Star.

It’s possible there was an Easter Egg with the personnel carrier making a cameo. I’d have to go back and look, I don’t have Disney+ right now.

Maybe they will just say it was his personal code or some shit. I need to go back and rewatch what he said exactly.
Because I'm curious to see if the dialog was mandalorian lore specifically,  or if maybe it was ambiguous enough that it's  a Favreau/ Philoni thing.

Fuck I need to relearn all the lore

Also, I think there's a rumor circulating that the Armorer is from Clan Wren (as evidenced in the last season of the Clone Wars).

According to canon, three.  Him, Yoda, and Yaddle.  There were several more in the EU before that all got declared non canon.

Yes!

Here is Sabine's mom - Ursa Wren - with Bo Katan at the end of the Siege of Mandalore arc. She was a known member of Deathwatch. She sounds an awful lot like the Armorer. Deathwatch saved Din Jarrin as as a child from a droid army attack. I'd say it's very likely that Din knows Sabine and Ursa in some way. And with Katee Sackoff playing Bo Katan, we should find out for sure.

In the craptastic Ashoka side quest episodes, she is trapped on a planet run by the Pyke Syndicate with 2 sisters who want o break into spice smuggling. They are being tailed by 3 female Mandos, one of whom is Bo Katan. They are seeking Ashoka to join their cause to kick Maul off Mandalore. One of the female Mandos sounds just like the armorer, and I believe she has Clan Wren markings on her helmer.
