But the thermal wasn’t part of that and it wasn’t to me personally. If they want to give me one of these they’re more than welcome to if they’re paying attention to this thread. . I’ll hold my breath in the meantime. |

For 1900 bucks I'm curious how that actually plays out. Certainly cool and for the package I'd consider it |

I can’t get the idea of one of these on an integral 22 for rodents out of my head. I think it would be a fun project.

The low resolution and small FOV make me think swinging a gun around with this on top to detect is suboptimal. And once you detect something the low resolution is going to make shoot/no shoot tough. May as well use a legit 1x thermal scope for night time chicken defense….or not. I’m interested to see your take on it, OP. Low res is probably fine for most people. Let's say I put it on my HD gun. At 2am if there's a human shape, it shouldn't be there. If my kids are spending the night, if it's an adult human shape, it shouldn't be there. If I'm out at 5am walking to the deer stand it would be nice to see what rustle over yonder (I mean, I have a pvs-14, but you get my point). Sure you aren't capping pigs at 500 yards, but it's the wrong tool for the job. Hopefully this spurs some local, on the board, companies to make a competitor. Wish they weren't Chinese. But they are making good products at good prices. Not just good but innovative.
While some "American" companies have been making the same exact product for over a decade with very little innovation and exorbitant pricing. |

Is this the same unit that ar15.com social media created the controversy of whether he was flagging show attendees with a real or fake firearm?

American companies are too busy blowing the government. Meanwhile, China is putting out a better product (for most) at a price that is much easier to justify. |

There's a reviewer on YouTube who points out that it's 256 imager is pretty low res and that there is no shortage of low end thermals with same imager for just under $1000 that perform just as well.
Of course they don't include a red dot, but you can always add one on an offset mount of you want. I don't own thermal as I don't see a use case for me. Just pointing out the review I watched. |

Have played with one in person.
Will own one eventually for sure, probably on a suppressed 300blk |

I'm amazed at the videos and how well it worked with a 3x.
I'm sure that at some point a V.2 version will be available that address a few of the bugs. Chyna or not, this is on my short list. Given Nolo's work and Judge McGlynn's most recent comment and case load, I'm guessing suppressors will be on the menu in Illinois in the next few years. Pair this up with a suppressed 300blk shortie, and the average civilian now has a boatload of capability. Guess I better go find a lanyard for my cheap Russian Gen 1 NV. |

My plan is to buy the NV version of this and use the Flir monocular as a spotter. I don’t have any NV currently, so it seems like a good combo for night hunting

Mine just came in. Cool as shit.
I own other higher resolution thermals but fuck…you’re getting creature ID with this out to 300 along with the ability to make hits out of a $1600 optic that’s also a day optic. I mean damn. It’s game changing to be sure. Works well with a magnifier too. |

"Hey there's a person out there"? or "Hey I can tell those are hogs and not deer"? How experienced are you? I only ask because telling the difference between animals at that distance can be pretty difficult for a lot of people even with higher res units. Just trying to get an understanding of how much of your impression is the unit vs you just knowing what you are looking at. |

I can get these like $600 under MSRP with my dealer pricing.
