Fist bumps should replace handshakes in most social settings. Faster, more sanitary, and less likely to have to deal with some prick who thinks it’s his chance to show how tough he is....or someone with sweaty ass hands.

I'm hardly some fashion nazi, but it's fascinating as hell seeing how people dress. Ever spot the salesman on a plane? It's easy, right? Pastel dress shirt, with the color-coordinated tie that you damn well know was sold as a set, polyester "coach" pants, and the inevitable slip on shoes. Always the black slip on shoes with the little chrome buckle thing. Not monkstraps, mind you. But never, ever a pair of lace up brogues. |

There are very few instances of which it would be ok for men to hug. Off the top of my head I can’t think of one so, no bro hug unless you want trouble.

I see it more often these days, but it wasn't a thing when I was growing up.
Mostly the younger guys do it, even my actual flesh and blood brothers don't do it. It just wasn't done, and we grew up with handshakes. Women did the hugging. Do what you like, though. |

3 of my friends and I hug when we see each other. we are like brothers.. We even say we love each other, but more like " love ya brother" my 2 best buds both lost their sides of their families, brothers and parents, so we have become even closer and more like brothers over the years
I get(and give) hugs from all kinds, old ladies, hot chicks, gays...doesn't bother me a bit, I like it. I don't look like a hugger but I am. I hold doors open for people too. Worse thing, when a cute lady hugs me....my hands tend to automatically. move toward the rear end....its just a habit. |

Menfolk hugging has always been weird to me. If that is your thing, knock yourself out, boys. That's apparently a thing with Italians and muslims. Not my thing. I hug the women I like and love. My little grandson always runs up and hugs when we see each other. I'm ok with that.
The knuckle bump is different. As a lifelong germaphobe, I think it a great invention. I've been getting that greeting from the younger guys at work for the last few years. Prefer it over a shake. Less pathogens exchanged, but still a show of respect in greeting. The only time I shake a man's hands might be for business greeting. Flu season? Hell no...not even if I'm meeting the president. |

I'd be alright with it from pretty much any female I'd normally meet, but a girl can't be a "Bro".
