Only 2 types of veterans, those who were brainwashed by the propaganda constantly drilled into them and those knew it was all bullshit.  Every single 11B I’ve ever met was type 1.

11B I might not drink all the cool aid but my first MOS was support and having some 3 years with ARNG infantry which is small potatoes stateside wise I’m still very keenly aware few other MOSs have familiarity with the standards and requirements demanded for infantry personnel. The USAF security personnel {no disrespect} and MPs aren’t even close to performing the same things the infantry does, no offense intended

Funny story about Ranger school

I was a First Sergeant and any E5 and below with a tab was exempt from the CQ roster.

In over a year I only had one in my Company that went, he broke his ankle in the Mountain phase.

We always had slots but few people wanted to go. Keep in mind these were Airborne Infantrymen with 1-2 combat tours.

lol that sucks bro. but at least he did it right? i would have been like fuck all that

this guy ended up in the COC in afghanistan, he was shit hot with the grunts but I guess made some enemies at battalion, guy had kind of a 'i do my job but i do it my way' attitude which probably didn't go well when dealing with the garrison attitude the H&S snco's had.

anyway i just looked this radio operator up on facebook and he's a physician now rofl man its crazy how some people end up after the military.

Sub service and Targets.  Heard that the first time in A school.

I was on a target, Crusier.  Seems like anytime we did an exercise with a sub we lost.  After awhile I figured the A school instructor was right.

I used to think whatever branches made division commander, corps commander represented who was support and who wasn’t but then an officer I served with in Japan who was aviation made division command. The whole feminist bitching about blocking female infantry meant denying promotions argument went out the window barely a few years after opening infantry to women

Seriously question in a not so serious thread:

From my RS experience I think Jesus hated me.

Everyone wants to have a Ranger tab, until they have to do Ranger tab things.

However I would go to war with any of those guys, a piece of fabric means nothing in combat.

They just didn't see a need for Ranger school.

For me I went at failed at 27yrs old(failed patrols in mountains).

CSM gave me a challenge 11yrs later and a opportunity, so I took it and went back.

Not a big deal, I just did what 19-20yr old Ranger regiment kids have done for decades.

A pilota drops what the infantry tells them to. Because a pilota is support.

And yes, infantrymen look good.
