I had a Bodyguard model 38 and 442/642 in the past and carried them, but no longer carry revolvers.
As a 2nd gun (AKA backup) I'd rather have a Kahr PM9 or Sig 365. 2nd gun carried in weak hand front pocket. As a primary? Glock 19 minimum*. *Exceptions: mowing yard/jogging, just PM9. Any other time wearing shorts and a belt it's Glock 19 minimum, even in a "good area" for a "quick trip to the store". Work is not a factor, I get to dress as I choose and that is conducive to concealment. My philosophy is carry a handgun that would be preferred in hand to defend myself, wherever; revolver does not meet criteria of preferred. I'd easily be quicker and more accurate in subsequent shots with a Glock 19 and that's not even factoring the capacity difference. |

They have a place in my system. I am generally use my LCR in 327 Federal Magnum as a backup ankle piece.
My Model 66 Combat Magnum is a joy to shoot, and my 686 + serves as my woods gun. I am disappointed by the all the members here who are not living up to the ARFCOM get both philosophy.   Attached File |

My 642 is my main carry gun now. A few reloads also. It is perfect for my daily routine. I also carry my model 66 sometimes. But my 642 is edc. I own lots of semi autos and used to carry a glock 35 edc. My life style and daily routine just does not require me to carry a high capacity gun anymore. I do not leave the house much except to go to Walmart or gas stations and I don’t live in a big city. I live a boring life. If that was different I would go back to semi auto.

My 340PD is on me everyday(for 15+ years)...quite often(spring summer) as my primary. For 8 years I carried a 386 Nightguard as(one of) my primary's along with the 340PD. The 340 is so stupid light there is no reason not to carry it someplace.
Mostly carry a 43x now..which replaced a P7M8 |

I always have a S&W 638 in my right front pocket. A couple of weeks back I picked up a S&W 340pd, which is now my new favorite carry gun.

Regardless of all of the fantasy scenarios dreamed up by the Gotham City crime fighters, the majority of encounters will be close range with only several shots fired; a J frame type revolver fits the bill well.

Under 40. Smith 438 with Desantis clip grip and a trigger cover that ties off to belt loop is my 1 o’clock IWB EVERYWHERE gun. Disappears, and comfortable even when sitting. |

I don't have a "primary" per se. Around the house I'll throw on my 642 because it's simple. My Glock 43 is my main hiking gun. Over the winter I'd throw on my Glock 22 under winter layers if I was out running around town.
A lot depends on what I'm doing and convenience |

I carried a revolver when I walked a foot post in the ghetto. I wouldn't have an issue with carrying one now, being retired and living in the 'burbs.
On the whole though (IMO), a semi-auto is just better for self-defense. Size, weight, capacity, concealabilty, speed of reload... these considerations almost always favor a semi. That being said... I looovvve revolvers. I'll always be a wheelgun guy at heart. |
