Slave Harem in the Labyrinth of the Other World had an "eh" first episode. It wasn't horrible, but it didn't exactly leave me on the edge of my seat to see what happens next either. I'll keep watching though.

The title is definitely a bait and switch... I'm only halfway through it so far, and the first three episodes reminded me a lot of the White Whale segment in Re:Zero. They're not exactly the same, but have a very similar feel to me. Episodes 4-6 really remind me of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, which I really enjoyed. If your son hasn't seen that one yet, and liked this anime, I'd recommend checking it out. I'm pretty sure it's age appropriate, iirc. I still can't get over the "Bunny Girl Senpai" title, though... It definitely wasn't what I expected. Glad to hear you're enjoying it! I wasn't sure what to expect but it kept coming up over and over again as a recommendation for me so I gave it a go. I love the show, it's a great mix of twilight zoneish sci-fi, romcom and bunny girl. It's just not your typical anime and I love that. If you have the chance to track down the movie give it a watch as well, it really wraps up another arc. I heard there are 2 more light novel volumes released in Japan but I'm not sure they are going to continue the anime. It's one of those shows I just wish there was more of and I started reading the first light novel because of that.
