Appears "all" of the Gen 5 G17 MOS being sold right now all have the front "summer slide serrations."

I see G19X MOS FDEs being sold, finally.

How is the implementation of the SIG M17 going within USASOC?    Do they have M18 parts acquired through the system for alteration to a more concealable configuration as mission dictates or Operator Preference?   Is USASOC restricted by the UOC (Usable On Code) codes to M17 only?  Meaning, a unit not authorized M18 cannot requisition M18 parts like slides, barrel, grip modules through "the system"

As far as I know.  A M17 stays a M17, same with M18, they stay in that configuration.  M17s are a replacement for the M9, not the G19/26s (Mk27/Mk26)

Don't think that Glock is making a 19X MOS.  Looks like the ones out there are aftermarket work.  And most I could find only came with 10 round mags.

Any word on the X Series grips being used on the M18 in special operations? I recall reading that a select group was doing this but I cannot recall who it was.

I think this is what you are referencing:

SIG SAUER – M18 M18 X-CONVERSION Kit

All that would be left of the original M18 would be the FCU and even that would have the safeties removed and trigger replaced.  As a commenter there noted, the pic doesn't even match the press release.

My sister-in-law's husband just came back from a deployment. He said they got to play with some "new toys" and gave this out:

Many of the guys he was contracted with were using G17/19s with RMRs (or some other optic, but he was pretty cemented on them all being with RMRs)

A lot of practice shooting went down with the M17/18s with iron sights only.

Even though SIG has the military "contracts," Glocks were still the go-to for almost all of the operators he was on deployment with.

Awesome video

some takeaways...
- Some not wearing plate carries
-  No BUIS, EOtech's only
-  No RDS on Pistols
-  Dump pouches still rule

Just goes to show ya, you don't need all the stuff ARFCOM says you do, or else it's your funeral.

Skill trumps gear.

A few months ago I started my search for a set of original Mk27 Mod 1 and Mod 2 pistols, since I already had the 2 original Trijicon SU-291's. All it takes is a single part to start a new project! It took me a few months, but I was able to find the Mod 0 on Gunbroker. The Mod 1 was more difficult to acquire and it was double the price of the Mod 0. I've got to give a shout out to @19xGlockx19 for the Mod 2, without him I wouldn't have been able to complete this set!

As far as I know, this set with original contract overrun Mk27's and SU-291's is completely unique, I've never seen another complete pair like this in a collection. I'm also waiting for my stamp to come back on a Sig MODX-9, so that will be the finishing touch.

Legit Trijicon SU-291's, the only difference between these military overrun RMR's and commercial ones is the laser engraved NSN on top:

UID on the underside of both trigger guards (I blurred out most of them, sorry):

Mk27's with their cases:

That seller had 2 of the Mk27 Mod 1's. The first one he had was purchased by a friend for the seller's $3,000 buy-it-now price. The seller posted a 2nd Mod 1 a few days later, which is the one you saw sell for $2,100.

Good luck with your search for a legit civilian Mk27, it's going to be an uphill battle. The cat's out of the bag on what these pistols are and the prices are probably only going to get worse. It's estimated that there's only about a dozen  Mod 1 and Mod 2 pistols that were each released.

I assume the first pic is AWG?  Does anyone have the specs on these?

We’re these commercial g34s(extended controls and - connector) or LE spec(standard controls and standard connector)

Pic is blurry but Looks like they may have Dawson sights without fiber optics?

@Super_Trouper

About 2 years ago I was looking for one and found a seller here selling about a half dozen new old stock SilencerCo g19 13.5x1 barrels. I bought one of those. There wasn’t much else for sale even 2yrs ago.

Your best bet now would be to pony up and buy a Jarvis.  I actually prefer 13.5x1, and that’s what I use on all my 9mm handguns. Was looking for one for my ltt beretta 92 for a while. Ended up buying a Jarvis and it’s a laser beam of a barrel and the highest quality pistol barrel I’ve ever seen. Took 5-6months to get it once I ordered it.

Still curious about this if anyone has info; but also curious about the 17 MOS3s we’re seeing.  Looks like it’s the new cag and 24th pistol, but the SF units were seeing with them, are these unit purchased or is socom transitioning to the gen 5 as whole?

What’s the thought process behind the flat face trigger? Did they do anything with the “guts” of the trigger?

Back in 2014 I was running a small Kydex company as a part time hobby/business. I rented a gun show table at the Raleigh gun show where I met by two young guys who looked closely at my holsters and asked if I could make a batch for them in less than three weeks because they were headed to AFG. Turns out they were SF and carried G19’s. They placed their order and two weeks later I sent them out. I never heard back. I hope they all came home safe. Attachment Attached File

I do not as I don't make that holster.  Just gave him my dimensions on mine.  But guessing since there is tabs in the center, may have an additional bungee for "Enhanced" security.

Ha, I get to post in the awesome thread. I bought one from DRM and asked the difference. He said the difference is the enhanced has a stronger bungee to keep the pistol from moving around when doin the “run and gun”. I used mine today in a club match and it was awesome.

I tested light bearing holsters for my department. The SERPA failed miserably. It’s way too easy to pull the holster off the shank. Also the seatbelt location of the Crown Victoria Police Interceptor pushed the button for a lot of people when seated, when the seatbelt was removed the gun was pulled out of the holster. .

We went with Safariland. The holster breaking off the shank was a definite no go.

Cheap holster.

Green berets training in South Korean, looks like all of them are running the new Gen 5 17s. I wonder if there is a designation for the 17s or if it's something like the old RTF2 G22s that is not going to be adopted by SOCOM in general.

I always find it humorous that SF types always need to wear a different camo pattern to differentiate themselves from line troops lol.

I miss my old issued Glock 19 when I was in Iraq embedded in with Iraqis again.  I need To get with the guys at Campbell and see if they have any of those holsters.  I had One passed down on my 2016-2017 deployment in Iraq and Syria that I gave it to my replacement.  I still Have 3 gen3 Glock 19s and I am still carrying it but need to practice with another pistol since that is what I’ll be issued at DIA.  It’s not an m17, m18, mk26, mk27, m9 or anything that I have used before.  Just need to get a new poly for this position.

While I’m keeping my eye out for a legit mk27 mod1 or 2, I’m working on one of these, already have the milling sorted but the correct lh threaded barrel seems unobtanium

FYI I was also curious earlier in this thread if the g5/17s were becoming standard, didn’t see a response
