Is that a chinese PG? It's a good match to the rifle.

Ok, you need to explain that mag. How'd you do it, and does it work? |

haha you're right.
For a moment i thought he had actually rigged up a hi-cap mag. |

Nice Draco. That's how I plan to setup the one I have on backorder. Where did you find the neat hand guards?
|
|
|
The hand guards are Romanian laminate. They show up on the EE occasionally. That set came from a member here.

You are correct sir! tried the two mag for extra capacity but the curvature required is more than both mags together achieve. After loading 10, the rounds start to dive and wont feed( the rims cause the heavy arc). working on more modifications to get required curvature so nose of rounds stay in line for feeding. The taped mags are for quick change purposes and with a mag baseplate serves as a great monopod |

If you want to strap on all these chincy toys to the point that its gained 5 pounds and looks like Mattel designed it, get a poodleshooter. The more it gains weight and the more complicated it becomes, the further it gets from what Kalashnikov designed it as. It didnt become the most famous assault rifle ever and earn its reputation with all that shit attached to it! Rather, it earned its worldwide acceptance and reputation in its most basic form. I respect a collector and a purist, but lets face it, those poor length-of-pull wood stocks, and un-ergonomic foregrips aren't going to help you in the battlefield. There is a reason our troops are kicking woody AK ass over there in the middle east. =) Actually, I would suggest checking your facts. The fast majority of the special forces overseas that carried the AK put synthetic stocks and scopes on them. Kinda sucks when your stock breaks or gets waterlogged. =P Your gear fits your mission, to have a piece of history (its history for a reason!)and collect dust in a case somewhere. I would assume lowepro's gear also fits his mission, and my estimation, its killing stupid ass people. The only drawback to that system is the weight, and if lowepro can handle it, let him. After all, he isn't forcing you to carry his gun and shoot it. Just my 2 cents... |

We actually do a little more than just cutting down the barrel, but yes, it is the original Romanian chrome lined barrel. We've moved the gas block back so that a standard AKM length piston can be used. The barrel is not only shortened by about 10", but we also re-profile it, so that all the barrel-mounted hardware can locate correctly. A nice side effect of this is improved bore concentricity. Thanks for the compliment. It is really cool, isn't it? |

I realize that several countries that currently use the AK in combat have any number of optics, etc. However...the AK earned its reputation LONG before any of the current stuff you're seeing. Now.....back to the pics! |

Here's my new 10/63 I purchased a few weeks ago. I've really enjoyed shooting it. I've got plans to do more stuff to it. I know some people are purists and go for the wood, and some are "tacticool." Well I kind of like the tacticool stuff. That and it's already started. It came with the T6 collapsible stock.
