These got me in trouble in the mk18 thread.. this is more correct (still missing things) https://i.imgur.com/UfsC6Jl.jpg
And this is the inspired mk18, but I loved the BCM rail and H1 on the kac Mount.

The best part is you can “clone” what you like and make the rest yours...

If you moved the Aimpoint to the shorty, you'd have an approximation of the 733 that the actor playing MSG Gordon in BHD used. I've always liked that set up.

All of those are awesome.

I set mine up exactly how I had an issued rifle on one of my deployments.  I like the different era builds (BHD, etc) but I had to stick with what I knew.

Waiting for a slightly warmer day to paint mine....at least the base coat anyways

Someone suggested I post my rifle in this thread.  I just finished it up last week as a sort of prototype and I'm very pleased with it so far.

I took a PRI Hand guard I picked up used and cut it approx 3" shorter.  I removed the end cap from cut off section and moved it to the remaining hand guard.  I cut the top rail and moved it back so it was a bit longer than the top rail.  14.5" barrel with the brake pinned and welded to get to the required 16".Obviously a Mk12 inspired build and nowhere near a correct clone but I like it.

HO-LEE SHIT! That's awesome! The clone-ish dark side is where it's at. You get to choose what's useful and improve where you want. Jesucristo that's a nice looking rifle! Don't be surprised if fellas take this rifle as blueprint.

What's the difference between a mini mod 0 and a mini recce?

ETA: just curious to see if I'm missing something here or just personal preference.

Navy EOD (who are/were the EOD that supported SOF, regardless of branch) was still using 727s in 2001, when I was deployed to Kosovo... Still saw 723s in the hands of Navy (non SOF) then as well.

ETA- One of those guys in one of the pics is Navy EOD. We were on the same "mission" in Kosovo. He did so bad at the range trying to zero, that the team I worked for ceremoniously issued him the shotgun during our morning meeting the next day.
No shit? Me too.
Me too, deployed there (Camp Monteith, and we owned the city of Gjilan) October 2001 and left around June 2002. 2-14 Infantry, 10th Mountain Division.

My builds all center around GWOT clones, or at the minimum inspired looking setups. It makes me feel like Im back repairing Army Weapons, and thats my goal :)

the 733 upper and Mk12 Mod H are clones, the 12.5" is a mini-recce that is heavily .mil done, and the m1A is of course Shughart. the C7CT will be going SAM-R, and the howa is just .civ stuff but the low optic and paint really gives it a ".223 XM3" style flow. the M4 upper never stops being changed. its always on the chopping block
it was recently a 10.3". the M9A1 is the standard USMC issue, with some lil mods here n there.

im trying to have different enough builds so i dont have two of the same thing. they currently all fit a different slot and i like that.

I hope these are ok!

WOA SPR barrel chopped to 16.5"
Spikes Tapered Gas Block
AEM5
URX 3.1
Geissele SDE
Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x42
Badger Recon Mount

I've got a TBAC bipod on order that I will swap with the Magpul.

I've got a project in progress on my 10.3 rebuild that should be ready in next week or so. Excited to share when it's done.

I have a DD Omega 9 I'm thinking of chopping out a FSP pocket for my Operation Gothic Serpent rig. Can this be done with only a Dremel and patience? Plan is to get a MRE but this would do in the meantime.

Posted this in another thread but might be answered here more objectively: Can someone school me on the difference between the TA01NSN and TA31RCO?

ETA: practical application for a jack of all trades, but master of none carbine is what I mean. A truck gun. Is the dual illumination a hindrance or an upgrade over tritium only? Which reticle is preferred?

ta01 is og, hash line BDC, tritium only. maybe more accurate but not as functional as no fiber optic so as time goes on, tritium dims.

ta31 series (F, D RCO) Is dual-ill, tritium and fiber optic. these have donut dot, chevron and ACSS reticles with bullet drop comps, and binden aiming concept (BAC) Basically see color glowong, put on target and shoot @ close range. these are faster.

TA02 IS BATTERY, tritium backup?? unsure
