one last question, does the barrel and upper receiver have M4 feedramps?
or is it a regular feedramp upper? |

If an AR-15 doesn't have some form of carry handle, something's not right.
|
If you guys would have to choose a barrel to put on the A4gery right now, who would you buy it from?

The sling we used through part of boot camp as well as when I got to my unit, was/is a 3-point from Sling-System. http://www.slingsystem.com/generalslingmain.htm
Now that said, some of the guys who went over to Iraq in '05 were issued a different 3-point with a mag pouch for the butt stock. If a Marine wanted to, he could purchase his own sling and use it. At least at our unit he can. |

Well my kids have lost my camera. So no pictures.
I have added an M5 RAS and a butt stock magazine pouch. The one I have is black and from Specter Gear. Great quality stuff as always, just a longer wait to ship then anticipated. I still need some rail covers. |

Are you going with Knight's for the rail covers? |

Are you going with Knight's for the rail covers? Yes. Since I am maintaining the clone thing, I'm going to use KAC rail covers. I was a specter gear fan before they were specter gear. They used to be CQB Solutions. The product is just as good, but shipping has slowed a bit. |

I knew that I was somehow justified in putting side swivel on my A4! |

It doesnt need one to be a complete copy, it is your preference.............I just watched the FN factory tour where they actually made all the parts from scratch, and all the M16A4's had on them was just the Knights rails and panels on all 4 sides of the rails......... No VFG from the factory. I like my VFG because it helps me turn that long barrel as I am used to SBR's and carbines. |

Oh no...............not another issue item..............
A SureFire lamp now?.......................What's next, a fricking issued buttscratcher?!?! This clone is racking up to be the most expensive AR in the safe! I'm glad I dont want a MKII mod 0..............................................nevermind, I do..... |

The 961 and 951 are issue the 951 is only 60 lumens the 961 is brighter but heavier. Many pics also show some soldiers have 6p and other odd lights they purchased themselves. The lights are not issued to everyone and just like BUIS many chose not to mount it. I know when I was in Iraq I wished I had a light several times mostly when we were doing house searches there are some awfully dark closets in that country. |

I have had her out several times now she shoots quite well with m193 55 grains I got some 62 grain stuff today. I have shot some 2 in groups at 200 yards but no 1 in groups at 100 yards yet. At 400 yards she is keeping them on paper but there is no real "group" at that range. She is heavy around 11 lbs as set up in the pic. The photo doesn't really do it justice it looks like a battleship in person. This is a great thread thanks to all of you for your info and insite in helping me put this beauty together. I have a friend that wants that sling. Where did you get it? |

I have an A2 that I'm thinking about making into an A4, but I'm worried that with the rails it will be very front heavy. Anyone think the A4 is front heavy?

M4/M16 R-COM E-Model (Rifle Combat Optic Mount) USMC AUTHORIZED for use with issued Trijicon TA31RCO 4x ACOG. Also compatible w/ 3.5 & 5.5x ACOG and RX30 Reflex series. Link I couldn't remember if it was here in this thread or not. But now it is so I can find it again. |

Have yet to see any of those in the fleet. In fact the new SDOs (SU-258/PVQ) come with Larue mounts instead of those. |
