I wouldn’t use a crush washer but I don’t know how I would feel about using my suppresor on that A2 with a spacer behind it. Might be a non-issue. Anyone have experience with that?

I use shims on all my pin and welds but had an old friend (1st SFG 18B) that shot his Yankee Hills suppressors on A2 FH mounted with crush washers... he ran fast and loose with his toys but never had a baffle or end cap strike though

As stated above. Also, when/if the cw loses its "spring" tension, then your MD is flopping around.

I see guys that do a home P/W job with CWs, some put too much heat into the task and end up with a loose MD.

Do you also need to use the stop washer for your can? I've been looking around for that can, and the prices vary so damn much. But I want one like yesterday.

View Quote It's not needed, I put it on some of my rifles but not others because I ran out of stop washers. Minor annoyance maybe.

The biggest issue is that they do not always crush evenly. So long as your bbl threads are concentric with the bore and your spacer or shims have parallel mating surfaces, you are gtg.

I said awhile back that I was going the 14.7 route but never did. Jumped on some SOCOMs and such and just went the spacer route. I've been happy with them.

Very true but if the crush washer isn't concentric it certainly doesn't help the mix any. Lol.

@Mossyrocks I have a lot of experience with a variety of cans and spacers that ADCO uses and it might as well be a sliver of a barrel so no issues with suppressed shooting there. As far as with an A2 bird cage FH as the host and how that is affected, I only have the Halo to go off of and it hasn't ever caused an issue. The spacer and can mount for Gemtech, knights, SF, AAC, AWC, Thunderbeast and OPS INC to name a few have not been an issue either for lots o' rounds.

Just to remind of an (expensive) option, I went with SAW (Specialized Armament Warehouse) design where they have their own A2 shaped muzzle device.

Lemme start by saying... I have zero interest in doing anymore of these.

Besides the fact that I am no machinist, I'm doing these at work on shared machinery. Every fukn time I get set up, it seems I have to tear down for somebody. Finally, after way too many hours, I have one completed. Figured I'd show it here as some have shown interest in doing the same. Redi Mag into Redi Modish.

I'm free balling it in a Bridgeport manual.
(I really need my own machine).
