Sellers description:
Up for sale is a bit of a unique M4A1 RIS II FDE. I had originally purchased this rail a few years back, and it came with the bottom section from a RIS II FSP FDE. I used it as-is for awhile, then asked Daniel Defense if they could send me the correct M4A1 RIS II bottom section. DD ended up sending me both a brand new top section and bottom section, but sent back the original bolt-up plate, barrel nut, and bolts. So, this RIS II features a brand new, current milspec top and bottom rail, with a boltup plate that is just a shade different due to being from a different dye lot - but in all other respects identical to current MIL issue. Everything works great, and the screws that attach the top and bottom rails are also brand new (the ones with the little plastic washers). |

Got a new "accessory" for my M4A1 SOPMOD "kit":
Incidentally - does anyone have any experiences with this fake ATPIAL at all? http://www.ebay.com/itm/FMA-PEQ-15-LA5-Upgrade-Version-LED-White-Light-Red-Laser-W-IR-Lenses-DE-TB0072-/321623402452?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ae23fa7d4 The Engrish is pretty difficult to understand, but I think it means that it does in fact have an IR filter to allow the laser to be used with NODs... While I would love to dedicate an ATPIAL-C to the Simunitions upper, I really don't think that I could justify the cost of that in my lifetime - at least not if I'm paying for it. For $60, if this will allow me to have an IR CQB training laser in the ATPIAL form factor, it seems like it might be worth a shot for the extremely limited role in which this upper will be used, it doesn't need to be the most effective, powerful, or durable - it just needs to give me CQB distance training tool that can be used with NODs and not damage them. Otherwise, I'll probably just keep my eye out for another LaserMax or Crimson Trace small rail mounted laser for that role, or just swap an ATPIAL-C on when needed. ~Augee |

Without seeing others direct from DD like that, I just wouldn't feel right about it. I hope its legit, and I'm not trying to shit in your Wheaties, it just would bother me. Particularly with that SKU on the box.
If indeed you have a Govt part, that would be the coolest shit ever. |

Yep, If someone from DD is telling you it's legit, then it is legit. They're not going to lie to you in their own industry section and I highly doubt they'd comment if they weren't sure. I'd say be confident that you have a very unique and rare (at least for civilian hands) RIS II. |

~Augee View Quote Where, may i ask, did you purchase a sim kit for the m4 and the m9? |

Anyone know where to get some like the ones that were supposed to come with the rail? Both look FDE to me. Some are WAY darker than others, I've owner 6 different RIS II rails and the FDE color was all over the place, and obviously there all the aspects of photography to consider. edit: actually, the bottom one looks black The bottom one is black and it belonged to member Stukas87. That rail was a personal purchase though, not issued. Beat me to it. The bottom picture was a personally purchased rail (I believe Augee has talked about this one as well), the top picture is definitely FDE. |
