In my search for a mint CAR stock, I came across this...  Yes, I realize it's not OG.

Has anyone seen or used one?

I have one, and just ordered another.  I've compared it next to an actual Colt CAR stock and the differences are really hard to find.  They're there, but unless they're next to each other and you're actively looking for differences you can't tell.

The only difference I can find off the top of my head is the sling loop on the top of the stock is SLIGHTLY thicker on the bootleg.  I'd say just grab one for the hell of it, they're only like $32 shipped.

http://looserounds.com/2014/10/03/colt-n-car-stock-vs-ma-parts-car-stock/

Has anyone successfully bought one of these recently though? They've been having problems with their website forever. A friend tried to order one a week or so ago and his card kept getting charged - but the website would freak out and then he's never gotten a shipping confirmation, email confirmation or anything. The number on their website is no longer in service and he's had no answers to inquiries over email. Really sad if these are no longer available, they're great stocks.

Yeah, their site is crappy, but they do ship.  I got mine not too long ago, and like I said, I trust them enough to order a second time.

Going to start a Block II build. RIS II inbound.

Anything wrong with running the Colt 14.5 gov't profile vs the socom? Figured I could save some weight that way. Will be running suppressed, semi auto.

Combat Diver even said he rebarrels some of the Socom profile uppers due to personal preference.

M4A1 14.5" Block II are Govt profile with low profile gas blocks, 10.3" are cut down Govt profile 14.5" done by Crane.  Standard M4A1 are 14.5" FSB either Govt profile or SOCOM barrels, depending on stock and user preference.  I prefer the standard Govt profile on my M4A1 as that is the set up I've been carrying since 95" and used to the weight/balance.

I used a dremel cutoff wheel and made a thread able spacer out of a spare A2 flash hider. You can also buy a spacer from ADCO for 20 bucks. I'll see if I took a pic of mine (think I did)

If you pin a FH with the spacer, is it safe for suppressor use?

That's What I said. 20 bucks for a 1 dollar part? No thanx. Anyways as you can tell, I chopped the end off an A2, then ground the cut side flush, and deburred the inner edge so they wouldn't inturrupt the threads from threading on.

Are there any block 2 semi-approved mounts for the Surefire M600?  I want to get it up to the 11 or 1 o'clock position.  Looking at IWC or Gear sector.

Thoughts?

The M600 isn't an official part of the SOPMOD program, though it is in common use on many rifles. Use whatever mount gets in the position you want. I prefer IWC, but I believe both have been used and seen in the wild.
