You need the Elcan MRDS mount, and the correct color is tan. Unfortunately those are getting hard to find so a lot of people now are just buying black units and painting them. Keep an eye out on eBay though, occasionally the tan pop up. The correct optic is a Docter II with a 7 MOA dot.

Elcan MRD mount. Docter 7.0 MoA or Insight MRDS 7.0 MoA.

You need the Docter Optic/ MRD Mount to go on top of the Elcan.  Unfortunately, the tan ones are no longer in production and hard to come by.  You can however buy black, they are usually $70-$100ish dollars.

Aside from that you need the 7moa docter sight, or an Insight MRDS to be correct.  Anyone else please correct me if wrong.

Heres the mount, feel free to shop around for lower prices:

Another good option might be to get the MRD mount and either cerakote it or if you really want it right, get it anodized

That's a nice stick. Hope to have something similar together in the near future

I'm not planning on doing anything with my EOTechs yet. I figure a failure in my units, or a mass dumping of all EOTechs by SOCOM might change my mind....but they're my chosen 10.3-14.5" clone optics for now mane.

Are the Daniel Defense RIS II rails still hard to come by? I have my Block II upper just sitting in the safe since I completed my SBR and am debating selling it.

It has a Colt 6920 barrel cut to 14.5" with h an extended bird cage flash hider pinned and welded, M16 bolt and mil spec charging handle. No sights.

Can someone give me an idea of value?

Forgot to mention its FDE

Unless things have changed in the past month, they're not as rare as they once were on the EE. When I was checking regularly I would see at least 2-3 a week, usually priced about $350. YMMV.

For now it's still EOTech. Replacement would just be guesses until SOCOM releases what/if there will be a replacement. My guess would be the MRO or CompM4 or T1/T2.

But as of now, even our resident SOCOM member says no new word of mouth of updates, and it's still EOTech's.

A little off-topic here, but tonight I was doing some cleaning of the rifles and really took the time to assess the fit and finish of all my complete lowers side by side.  This is strictly my opinion only, but the quality of the hard coat anodizing and the overall fit and finish of my old Windham Weaponry lower is top notch.  I was very surprised.  This was in comparison to my Noveske N4, LMT Defender 2000, and Aero Precision lowers.  I slapped the WW lower on my block 2 upper (Daniel Defense upper receiver), and all of the contours line up perfectly and the anodizing was an exact match.  I didn't really like how my LMT lower fit on the block 2.  It was off center and a different shade/texture of anodizing.

Anyways, I just swapped in my geissele ssa, CQD rear sling mount and vltor buffer tube in the WW lower. I'm gtg.  It's the little things that make me happy.

Thoughts?

With the sight aligned in the middle tick mark, the sight rests like this on my upper receiver.

I would vote that it would be more appropriate in the CQBR/MK 18 thread, as the intent of the GL/SSC was to be a version of the CQBR that was capable of mounting an M203.

Not so crazy, I'm working on a cqbr clone and the called for optic is a Eo 551. I finally found one in mint condition and snagged it over just doing it w/a Aimpoint.

If you're concerned w/t Eo maybe taking a dump on you, their CS should take care of you.
