Hey guys, could someone please tell me what iuid sticker to use on a block ll build I want to do? It will have the fsp if that matters. And where to get them I know some are sold on eBay but I didn't know if there were better ones than others. Please forgive any ignorance since I'm new to the whole clone build game.

Thanks in advance guys!

Block II should be the Colt CAGE code 13629 and M4A1 P/N 12972700.  S/N would be whatever you want it to be or your actual S/N.

So it'd be the Colt M4/M-16 0.75" UID?

https://www.ecwid.com/store/carolinalaserworks/Colt-M4-M-16-0-75-UID-p87250208

For the cage code would it have the (17V) prefix and would the P/N have the (1P) prefix that Carolina laser works shows?

Quick question, (and maybe a stupid one) but what weapon light is the most current one issued? Is it a Surefire? I know there is probably a metric shit-load of Insight ones still in the field, but since they're discontinued I can only imagine they aught to be drying up before too long.

I was reading the URG clone thread and came across some statements that only Block II FSB's may have SOCOM barrels, non FSB's have government profile barrels?  Is this true, I was under the impression that Block II's had the SOCOM profile?

Standard barrel for a 14.5" DD RIS II non FSB is a Govt Profile.  These uppers get a new barrel when fielded.  Those units that puchase 14.5" DD RIS II FSB rails use whatever barrel was on the M4A1 at the time which could be either Govt Profile or SOCOM.  Right now in my SOCOM spare parts bin are 14.5" Govt Profile without FSB and 14.5" SOCOM with FSB for replacement.

Took my throw together and made it more block ii. Non-fsp...yes it's black, yes its on a poverty pony lower, and yes its a 16" barrel...but literally this entire rifle started life from left over parts from my other builds being reconfigured.

This is how she looked on Thursday

And this is Friday

Like I said, it started life from left overs and is slowly becoming more correct. I spent all my money on the mk18 pistol, mk12, and sopmod, this was just a beater rifle but the more I look through this thread the more tempted I get...

Has there ever been an issued block 2 shown with a QD end plate?

It seems like with all the DD & KAC QD mounts and CTR stocks a QD end plate would find its way on a rifle

Here's my current setup

Pretty similar to this ranger

Or even this raider if I threw on an Eotech

Im considering swapping out my a2 flash hider and spacer for a surefire flash hider but im not certain between open tine or closed tine. I supposed the 3 prong would be closest to correct. How much of a ping are you guys getting from your open tined flash hiders? Is it very noticable while shooting?

Im running 4 prongs on my clone builds.  They ring alot less than my AAC 3 prongs IMO.  I'll probably do a couple closed tine on my non clone builds that ill be running the surefire on.

Which one is more common for the M4A1? Which do you see more of @combat_diver if you don't mind me asking

Shot that group today at 300 yards using Magtech's 77gr Mk262 clone load.  5.25"!

That Colt 14.5" SOCOM barrel shoots really well.

I'll definitely be going with the top one. Thanks CD and Jlgkl73.

I wanted a colt cage # as that's what would be correct, but I still wanted my serial number. It'll look correct from a distance

To add to the thread, here's a SF soldier running a block 2 with a vtac rail and a su-232 thermal

I'm partial to the non FSP. Flip a coin?

In the end it doesn't much matter. FSP is a bit more of a PITA to assemble tho, and will be a bit more nose heavy. Other than that, its apples to apples other than a missing section of rail space

I run s Mk18 fsp with ECOS and it's probably my favorite upper.  On my Block II fsp I run a Razor and its my 2nd favorite upper, first favorite for "precision" shooting though.

In the end I'm a sucker for fsp rifles.  Hopefully I'll have a Block I MRE by the end of the werkend.  Just waiting on parts.

I kind of like it.  Maybe you could just paint the lower and stock or just the rail for that two tone look.  I did that with my CQBR upper on my Block II lower.  Admittadly I bought a used/already painted upper reciever and added the rail.

Btw I think my Mk18 might be your Block II's kissing cousin.
