Thanks man, and yea I'm pretty excited about this purchase.  It's not perfectly kosher for the thread yet....and I'm not sure it'll be a clone anymore but I'll post it anyway.

ETA: NIB Colt M16A1.
It is still covered in the dry lube from when it left colt in ~1980
Planning to canibalize my CQBR for parts to put on this!

Thanks guys, and yea I have a mod 0 upper, a CQBR upper, a m4 block II upper, and 2 retro uppers as far as clones go, which will all go for rides on this lower.  The CQBR will call it home though.

You've got a definite "Chocolate FDE" theme going on there. Looks good; kinda different. I dub it CQBR Hersey's Edition ;p.

I backordered my FDE Gear Sector, so I'm still waiting :\. I refused to pay $75 shipped for it from Gear Sector directly and only a few other places had FDE available for order at all. One of the few with actual stock happened to be local to AZ and wanted to charge 3 different forms of tax, heh. Managed to find it available as a backorder for $50.99 shipped, but who knows how long I'll be waiting. It better come in before the damn tan Surefire or I'll do something extreme... like wait until it comes in. But I'll be very cross about it.

Haha the chocolate cqbr, I like it! Yeah 75$ is crazy I think I paid 60 for the patriot brown gear sector light mount

AMS Machine makes "low pro products" that offer several mounting solutions for multiple MRDS for the Elcan. Had one in the past that worked great.

Need some help from you guys since I'm really really bad at making decisions and just can't decide what to get first.

Here's my WTB list, what should I get this month?

  • WMX200 or M3X or SF M600

  • EOTech G33 Tanodized (or black or tan, please convince me not to spend $1000)

  • Leupold for my MK12

  • Colt M16A1 Lower with parts

  • Ammo (boring but right answer)

The Insight MRDS (EOTech) shares the Docter footprint. The RMR will require a new mount or the RM37 adapter plate.

If you are asking about a Colt M16A1 lower, I would assume money is no issue so buy EVERYTHING!

Seriously though, I HAD a WMX200 back in the day when they were like $400 dollars, kinda bulk... I have a M600 right now, kinda bulky on the Mk18. I'm back-ordered on the new M300C, the NEW tan 500 lumens one, I would go that route.

The last couple G33's in Tanodized sold for $1550 and $1600 unfortunately. If you have a source for $1000, jump...

No comment on the Leupold glass.

My thorntail sbr mount clears both lasers, I'm also using a 110 lumen head though which isn't as fat as the newer heads.

Not necessarily, I tried that myself and unless you mount it ahead of the ATPIAL (at least half of the flashlight body length ahead) it wouldnt be enough room
Have you looked at unity mounts? Heard they are pretty swee
But yeah, I couldnt get the laser seated without moving the light, and I have an m300 with a malkoff head which is a smaller diameter than any m300 factory head and I still couldnt get it to clear

Yeah that’s the problem I had as well, it won’t physically clear but the beams will clear the flashlight.

This is the closest I can get when I used to run the m300

Nice to see you here @White_knight

There seems to be quite a bit of activity in the Mk18 thread on CGN after I got banned....again, lol!  I really liked your comparison post, hopefully you don't mind, but I re-posted it on Canadian Firearm Central.

No new pics of my Block II other than the effects of using the training can with the 4 prong (which by the way is an awesome flash suppressor)

Really jealous of that M16 from the top of this page, wow! https://www.ar15.com/forums/ar-15/Mk-18-CQBR/118-641240/&page=933#i7561821
I picked up a Norinco A1 lower and was toying with the idea of swapping it into my mod0 build, but I don't think I could live with myself if I did:

My Mod0 on the left:

Either way, I have to figure out what to do with that filthy chi-comm lower, lol!

Blasphemy! This isn't 1994 ;p.

Besides, an M600 on the bottom rail would be right in the middle of where most people mount their VFG/AFG.

I'm just running it with the factory mount at the 3 o'clock position. I was hoping to tuck it away a little with an offset mount but I really don't want to move my ATPIAL back even further for the light body to clear it.
