Speaking of A1 grips, anyone know a website selling A1 bakelites? Besides gunbroker. I really like the thicker colt A2 grip over the skinny regular A2s (non-colts), so I'd like to get a thick A1 grip if they are. (not sure if colt made one size only, and defiantly not sure if it was thick or skinny)

So I recognize that 10.3 inches is the correct length for a MK18. However, I have an LMT 10.5 (and have had it for years now). I am not going to argue it is correct--if anyone asks, I'll say I'm cloning one of the 50 or so test guns, ha. That said, are the LMT 10.5 upper groups even being sold anymore?
*Caveat: I stuck with the 10.5 because my can (a Gemtec G5) just barely clears the bayo lug when mounting as it sits. At 10.3 it will not clear. |

Thought that was odd, so I reached out to both AU and SF. Contact AU and they told me to talk to Surefire. Surefire said all the AU cans are very well used and refurbished. They're .mil cans that are basically sent back once units upgrade. AU sends them to surefire, who repaints them, gives them a new box, pouch, manuals, etc. Surefire sends them back to AU and asks they mention their history on the site, but I haven't seen any mention of them being used/refurbs/once issued/or anything else. They're working on resolving the issue. I know some guys in here probably like the fact they're actually issued. But they're military used. Which likely means lots of rounds through them, and everything has it's life span. For the price, it's hard to complain. Just think that's something that should be mentioned up front. Now you guys know. Had my collar been fine, and the box not marked, I never would have known.... View Quote So the SOCOM RC that I just got on 3/21/18 was NOT NEW? AU please weigh in on this. |

I asked in the Arms Unlimited industry forum about the Surefire suppressors they’ve been selling....

SureFire repainted these suppressors and installed new SOCOM style rings on all of them and sold them to us at a discounted rate. They absolutely were not fielded, and most just sat unused in a military armory until being returned for upgraded models. Maybe grading them A,B and C as far as condition, KAC did something similar with some Delta trade in SR25s a few years back. |

View Quote I'd like to clarify, my 212 does look good, save for the collar. Baffles and actual finish is damn near mint, but the locking SOCOM collar is absolutely rekt. Maybe it was the OG collar that was brought back and surefire couldn't refinish it, I dunno. But it's not great at all. I wouldn't have even looked into it if it weren't for that combined with the RMA, and some weird white X chalk marks on the pouch. |
