Just ordered a Brownells combination wrench and picking up my RC2 Saturday. Shame I won’t have a torqued 4 prong ready for it. Wasn’t expecting a 6 month approval.
I guess a 4 prong and crush washer will work to hold the can for pictures for now |

Just ordered an RC2 yesterday from Silencer Shop. Can only hope I'll be in your position in 6 months.
People keep talking about the LGS receiving the stamp. I thought those were just emailed to you? When I SBR'd, I don't think they mailed me anything. |

For paper Form 4’s you get the approved form with a real stamp attached. It’s mailed to your FFL that’s holding the NFA item. |

Buffer tube? 4 or 6 position and is one of the Colt tannodized 4 position tubes acceptable?
Specialized Armament has the 6 position black in stock but doesn't specify if it is Colt. |

What Surefire Scout light is everyone opting for. I can’t stomach the idea of waiting to find an insight pop up and then throw down $700-1000 for one. Just curious if folks are opting for 600 series or the 300 series?
|

A couple of "correctness" questions:
1. Regarding VFGs, both the TangoDown BGV-MK43, Tan (Surefire tapeswitch cutout) and the BGV-ITI, Tan (Insight tapeswitch cutout) have NSNs. Is one considered clone correct vs. the other or are they both GTG? 2. B5 SOPOMD Gen 1 Government Contract Overrun stocks in black are considered clone correct. Curious, @Combat_Diver, if you've actually seen these stocks on guns or were the SOMPODs always LMT? |

It’ll clear the suppressor. Looks goofy though without the cam on it because the light is ahead of the muzzle. But who shoots a MK18 clone unsuppressed anyways, LOL. I actually went M600v for the IR in a Haley offset scout mount. Tape switch up top. That light has some decent IR throw until I need a laser. I know, I know... wrong can. Whatever. Thanks all on the Surefire suggestions. I was thinking the 600 as it seemed a lot slimmer, but it’s always nice to see the options mounted on rifles to help the decisions. Next order of business, does anyone want to talk me out of the Elcan SpecterDR 1-4. I’ve been thinking EXPS3-0 with the G33 magnifier, but a buddy was talking to me about difficulty using red dots with astigmatisms. Could be nonsense, but it’s worth asking as I have an astigmatism in both eyes. Is the extra cost on the Specter worth it from a multifaceted standpoint? Thoughts.......

View Quote Probably depends on the severity. I have astigmatism and while the dots aren't perfect, they're more than usable. The only time I really notice it is when zeroing or shooting groups for load development; shooting fast I don't notice it at all. My preference is for an EXPS3 and G33. It's hard to beat the Eotech when it comes to CQB target acquisition/transition speed, and the majority of the time I shoot with just the EXPS3 by itself. With the G33 I have magnification when I want it and no extra weight on the gun to carry around when I don't. Your best bet is to check one out in person. You'll likely find that as long as you're focusing on the target and not the dot, it's plenty usable even with astigmatism.
