Question for you guys who own the Surefire SOCOM-RC cans.
If you had a AR 22 build would you feel comfortable putting a SF SOCOM muzzle device on it and shooting .22LR through your SOCOM-RC can? At $825, I think I might buy one too but I was looking at buying can for a .22LR first but if I can use this for both... Hmmm... |

Is the only way to get a 10.3" Colt barrel to have one cut down?
Just wondering if I should scrap the DD Mk18 stripped upper idea and go for a Colt barrel and upper instead... |
|
|
The DD Barrel doesn't disappoint if you're concerned about quality.
Those are 416's in the pic from Geissele. |

View Quote But, the full length/cut down barrel is actually the correct one, from a strict cloning point of view. Issue is, the most often mentioned shop's 10.3 doesn't really align up with Crane's 10.3" at times, and they make no guarantee that it will...so you are rolling the dice a bit. DD will work, previously commercial DD's had gaping gas ports, but reports recently show them coming in at .070-.072 which is good. If that is the case I would go that route vs hoping to get correct cut down length. Honestly if you need a rail and/or upper the best bet is to pick up the DD upper from Brownells, esp since it's on sale right now. |

If you don't care about a clone barrel Androcorp has nice 10.3 with or without FSBs available. They are an industry partner here and the barrels are made by Ballistic Advantage.
ETA: .07 GP too. |

Holy hell that is a good deal. |
