Converted my Chiappa 22 rifle into a pistol. It's a hack job but it adds more fun to a pretty crappy upper.
I need to replace the poly upper because the FF rail barrel nut threads on crooked. It's not cross threaded.
The upper really is threaded crooked. The can is fake to hide the barrel end cut.

A pistol can become a rifle, but a rifle can never become a pistol. If you are using the same lower as the rifle pictured up top, you are wrong and need to delete these pics.

Thanks man, I appreciate the concern but I did my homework...
It is a pistol lower. If you look, the rifle has a Seekins lower (that now resides in my safe waiting for an upper) and the 22LR pistol has a PSA "4473 other" receiver.

I also sold the stock from the rifle so it wouldn't be laying around.

In fact, its this pistol lower.

The 5.56 gun has an "other" billet lower now

Here's my build for my wife for Christmas. She likes green so went with Cerakote Zombie Green.

PSA lower/LPK
CMMG Entry Stock & extension
A1 pistol grip
Aero upper
CMMG bolt/16" barrel
Samson Evo  7ex rail
Taccom reliability kit
Bettermag adapter for S&W mags.
Daniel Defense fixed rear sight

Haven't taken it out to the range yet. I'll report back on that later.

Dangit, now I think I need to copy that green .22.  That rifle is just sexy

Will probably use one of the Spartan lowers and do the roll marks in black after coating though.

OK, I'll play.  I'm really much more of a "bolt guy", and while I have several very nice, accurate Kimber Model 82 sporter repeaters, a 40XB single shot, and an insanely-accurate custom 10/22 in a McMillan stock I'll just post some photos of my just-completed "Frankenstein" TacSol / LWRC AR-22.  It's been a very long road - I originally bought the barrel, 416 SS BCG, and upper receiver several years ago from a TacSol AR-22 M4 upper from a Sniper's Hide member to build up a dedicated AR-22 upper.  My plan was to swap the upper on-and-off of a Pre-Ban Bushmaster lower, but unfortunately, I would get sporadic FTF and FTEs' which I attributed to the notched hammer of the Jewell trigger in that Bushmaster lower (dedicated upper or conversion bolt, AR-22 setups typically don't like notched hammers). It probably didn't help that the rim of the chamber also had some slight "pinging" at 12 'O Clock from dry-firing that was present when I bought the parts used.

I didn't want to give-up my two-stage Jewell trigger, so at that point I decided that I would just build a dedicated lower for my AR-22.  However, I never got around to building-up the lower until now. I haven't shot it in it's new trim yet because after I built the lower I worsened the pinging by playing with the SSA-E trigger (I forgot to push an empty case in the chamber between trigger pulls). Now I'm waiting on a .22 Chamber Iron from Brownell's to address the pinging before I can go play with my AR-22. Dumbass.  Oh well, after all this time waiting another week or so won't kill me.  Now without further ado...

AR-22 Upper Components:
Tactical Solutions 416 Stainless BCG
Tactical Solutions 16.1" (.22") Rock Creek barrel
Tactical Solutions-marked AR-22 Upper Receiver
LWRC ARM-R MkII-B Quad Rail
LWRC-marked Troy BUIS (Front & Rear)
MIL-Spec Charging Handle
Mil-Spec Barrel Nut
Mil-Spec A2 Flash Hider + Cone Washer
Tango Down Black Rail Covers

Lower Receiver Components:
Franklin Armory HSC-15 Forged 7075-T6 Lower
RRA Lower Parts Kit
Geissele SSA-E Trigger
Magpul UBR in OD & Black
Magpul MIAD in OD

TacSol AR22 Receiver, Hardened SS Bolt, and 1:16 M4 Contour barrel:

11yr old girl shoots the Silencerco Stainless Sparrow and Taccom3g .22 upper with GemTech Subsonic

Time at the range on Saturday with the TACCOM3g . 22lr upper and the Silencerco Stainless Sparrow.

The first video is shot with federal supersonic match

My friend's 11 year old daughter shot it and didn't even realize it was working when I switched to the GemTech subsonic ammo

Once she got the dope right for 100 yards she rang the steel without effort:

It's a 7.5in lage stock with an ace compact receiver block.  Length of pull with the 7.5in stock and the arrb-c is about the same as a collapsible stock extended one adjustment from the shortest setting.  If want it to fold, you'd need one of the ace folding stock mechanisms too (either the FSM or FSM-PB).

Thanks!  I used Rustoleum Stainless silver but I cannot recommend it, It wears off very easily. The paint is pretty chalky. I am planning to strip it off today and buy some duracoat. I may paint it in white winter camo. There is a guy on the pistol forum who used a metallic bronze wheel paint that he says is holding up very well to solvents.

I would bet Hoppes will strip this off like watercolors (haven't cleaned it yet)

I just finished putting this together today. CMMG upper assembly, DPMS carry handle sight, Spike's lower, Geiselle SSA trigger. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, hopefully this weekend. Can't wait to see what the accuracy is like compared to my 10/22 and my friend's CMMG 22LR conversion kit on a standard 5.56 AR.

I have in the past. I just feel like I'm taking my life into my own hands every time I go there. Lots of shooters with poor gun safety and really bad trigger finger control while others are down range. But the DNR guys have always let us shoot tannerite which is cool.

Yeah, I don't shoot there often for the same reason. Any good options out your way? I tend to just shoot here at home but for my non-suppressed stuff a nice range would be good to know about.

I used to be a member at MCRC. But damn they have a stick up their butt about so many freaking rules. It's so difficult to go shoot there because you have to read a set of rules that rivals Homer's Iliad to make sure you aren't breaking any of them.

PSA's indoor range is cool because its all electronic. You dial in your distance and it sends the target to the exact spot you want (no guess work needed). The let you should full auto there. Very nice people, too bad it's indoors. Still searching for a good outdoor range around Columbia, SC.

I heard that Laurens, SC has a new 1,000 yard range. SCOTG

Had to ditch the crappy Chiappa plastic upper receiver for a forged PSA blem. My cheapo rail was crooked because of how the Chiappa was threaded.

While it was apart I stripped off the "stainless" paint because it was rubbing off the gun and getting all over everything. It was really weak standing up to solvents.

Before

Rustoleum Epoxy appliance paint. The sheen is perfect but it does hold dirt pretty bad.
I'll give it a month to harden up and see what solvents do to it.

After

Yeah it's a fake can to hide the barrel cut. It used to be a rifle. I cut it down and put the upper on an 4473'd "other" lower.
My kid is a COD nut. He looked at it and said "that looks stupid"

No.  I'm running with the midwest industries flip up, gasblock height, front site, they flip forward to clear the rail behind it.
The rear is a standard mbus gen 2.
