Cause my 607 lower isnt anodized or SBR'ed and that lower was GOING to be for an M4 build but I havent made any progress on that.

Here's a couple pics of the 607 lower. It may look familiar

Yeah, the barrel.  He said some things were dinged up and it looked like it was used more than 600 rounds as he claimed.  But, that's all hard to tell by just looking at a pic.

Guys this is bad..I'm already buying parts for the XM177E1.

So far I think I'm getting:
Stripped no-forge-code Colt M16A1 upper
Teardrop FA
M16A1 port door assy.
Flat slip ring
Round front sight post

Also contacted 45Bravo about doing some modifications to the fake XM moderator I have.

BRD is back from it's break I had during the Krink foray

Really, now, Blanco, but you're getting almost as bad as I am.  Except, at least you want all different things.

So what've you got on your plate right now?  BATFE is going to have quite a stack of paperwork from me once I demob.

Well, right now, I'm not doing anything til after I finish my AKS74U, which is going to be sent to the builder on Monday. Gonna take 3-4 weeks to get done. After that, I'm not entirely sure. I kinda want to do a full-size AK74, but I also want to start on my XM177E1, finish my M4, and finish my 607. Also considering a suppressor for my AKS74U...but I dunno.

So far, my stamp collection is up to 2.

ETA: Pic

ETA 2: I think my next project is gonna be finishing my 607. I keep getting jealous of all these people with cool 607s and mine isnt even together. After I pay for the AKS74U building, I think I'm gonna send my lower off to anodizing.

Now to figure out how to get my 607 stock off the lower...

Here is my newest (2nd ever) build.  I decided I wanted to build an XM177E2, so I decided to save (Im in college, lots of saving!) Things to excuse: the two tone rifle...upper and lower dont match, can't afford to get it refinished YET!, the 16 inch barrel (couldn't afford the tax stamp at the time), the bayonet lug, and my bed and mattress..

Original A1 upper
Del Ton 16in HB
Slip over flash hider
NoDak Spud Retro A1 lower
Essential Arms aluminum stock
Original pistol grip
repro CAR handguards

Also pictured is my 68 dated Tropical Rucksack stuffed with PRC25, poncho and liner, sleep shirt, 3 LRRP Rations, and various other gear to make it really heavy while on patrol...

I think that looks sweet!  I like the mottled grip.  I have one just like it.

My E2 "approximation" started out a lot like yours (bayo lug, reverse hider).  The bayo lug is easy enough to remove yourself with a Dremel and some finish sanding.  Then, when you can afford it, just have someone do the barrel work and you're really close.

You'll be real happy once you get the E2 the way you want it.

But it's even better if it's SBR'ed

Kinda miss that upper..but I got a sweet deal outta it

ETA: I should have another "retro" shorty in about 2 weeks. But I must warn ya'll that it's not what's normally posted in this thread

You know, one thing that really surprised me with my E2 is how extremely balanced it is.  It stands flagpole straight when I set the stock on a smooth floor.  That "floored" me.

Tag for pic.

More to come........I'm debating whether this will get a fresh Colt-grey molyresin job, or a "weathered/distressed" finish.

Here is my 607-ish clone......I keep the RDIAS in this one....TSI did the top end and stock for me......Palmetto lower, AAC cyclic rate reducer.....and the remainder early Colt.
After looking at UXB's stuff, I'm thinking about taking another 1.5 off the bbl. and putting a "duckbill" 3-prong on it.

It's funny you should say that, This whole build started with the repro M231 style stock. It reminded me of a grease gun stock, so I decided to build a 45ACP AR around it.
I may swap out the stock at some point, but I like it how it is for now.

Quit screwing around and get a CAR stock and A1 grip on that shorty pronto!

Lookin' good Blanco.  So if you had to pick between your krink and your shorty CARbine, which one would you choose?

I get so jealous that I can't do and SBR here in Illinois- if we could, I would have spent as much as necessary to build an XM607 by now!

LOL! That's my M4 lower so I don't really wanna mess with it. It's only temporary. I DO have my 607 lower (the 5th NDSXM16E1 lower ever made
) with a proper 607 stock but I dont have it anodized or registered yet. I'm going to be doing that soon (after I get another NDS-2SF receiver for my AK105).

Honestly, I'd pic the Krinkov. I have it sighted in dead-on, it has a folding stock, and I know I can put over 1000 rounds at a time through it and it'll still run without a hiccup. I LOVE my ARs but it's hard to beat the reliability of that Krink. I've already had it rust on me because of the corrosive ammo and I just steel-brushed it off and oiled it and it's still fine.

Move to a free state!

I would love to move to a free state but some current circumstances prevent that for at least the next few years.  Besides, I am helping my fellow IL brethren fight the good fight- despite our Chicago overlords trying to prevent us from having guns every year we have 87 counties that have legislation in the works for CCW.  I am needed here to help with our grassroots gun rights fight.  Maybe some day we'll have our rights back, and being able to have a legal SBR in Illinois would be the sweetest hard-fought victory of all.

I have an Krink with the pinned fake can and absolutely love it, even with the aluminum out front it is still very light and handy.  And I knew what you were going to say before I asked the question, but I had to ask anyhow.

Anyhow, back to the shortys!!!

Pics to make the bump less bump like.

My sad accumulation of parts.

Vintage 604 upper, I might get an A1 upper from NoDak or get one of their 604 uppers since the rest of the thing is going to be brand new.  The LPK is in the pill bottle.

I'm waiting on Bushmaster to ship the barrel so I can ship it to 45Bravo to be shortened. I am waiting on my buddy who makes CNC machines to give me a time to get the lower engraved.  I am waiting on ME to put the Form 1 in the mail, which is waiting on ME getting a bank account set up in my trust's name the bank sending me checks imprinted with the trust's name.  Soon I will be waiting on ATF itself.

I've thought about a a pinned fake suppressor myself a time or two so I could build some of these cool little rifles. Maybe with the recent political developments here in the Republik of Illinois things might change for the better (can they really get much worse?) Maybe if we can get rid of the corrupt Chicago Political Machine running this state into the ground things will change. Of course, now we have part of this Chicago Elite moving into the Whitehouse.
Sorry, political rant over.

Yes, it was parts I had on hand.  I pulled it off my Bushmaster M4gery when I got the DOE.  I never really intended to keep it that way.  The DOE is now back in its box, and the rifle now wears its original late 70's M16A1 603 upper, and A1 trap door stock.

We're making progress.!

Got my trust information engraved.  0.010" tall letters, 0.0095" deep.  ATF wants a minimum of 0.0625" tall and 0.003" deep, so I should be good.

Someday I will manage to catch EA when they can answer the phone and get an aluminum stock to replace the plastic one I got from Model A.

The assembled upper is my wife's, we were wondering what the weight might be when I was done.  This thing is going to be LIGHT!  Another side benefit of putting that upper on now is that this is my date stamped proof this lower is in a AWB configuration before the effective date of the new AWB, should they attempt to do it again.
