I prefer the security the flap gives me versus an open top pouch. Plus a little added protection from dirt and other debris can’t hurt. I consider these backups to the two I have on my gun belt so speed/accessibility isn’t a huge issue. Also, I’m not a huge fan of Velcro on magazine pouches because of the noise. The fact that they aren’t dedicated magazine pouches also means I can use them for other things if I ever need to. |

I like the SERPA drop legs but they are a bit too big and low. Where yours is seems a good hight. Might want to get one for my issue pos 9mm. |

The system works, you just have to know how to work the system.

I've got this stuff shoved in there: http://stores.homestead.com/Laruetactical/Detail.bok?no=397 as well as my light and some earplugs. I could probably squeeze in some more if I wanted to. Fortunately, I am a tall guy and the PIG sits nice and high so going prone isn't too bad. |

The one on the pack might look odd because the compression strap from the pack is running around it. The pouch on the training belt with the scissors is an OSOE small utility. All of them contain a 4" Israeli, a SWAT-Tourniquet, a roll of gauze, a petroleum gauze bandage, a pair of gloves and a sharpie marker. The HSGI pouches are slightly larger and have a couple extra gauze pads and a small roll of duct tape. |

Or just having spares that someone can grab for you and you back load your empties into it. If you have the regular shoulder straps on it you can just take the pack off yourself and grab what you need. |
