So the Rangers claimed DJ Peters off waivers today. He was DFA'd by the Dodgers last week.
He was the 15th ranked prospect in the Dodger's top 30. SOMEBODY FIRE UP THE PRIMUS GIF, THE RANGERS ARE GETTING FREE PROSPECTS. |

Tim Timmons calls a weird strike zone. He rang up Reynolds with a called strike on a sinker that was below the zone, then gave Stallings a called ball on a sinker that hit the top of the zone and should have been a called strike.

I was reading an article from March saying it was tried in a couple independent league and this year it would be used in the Southeast Low-A games. Players had mixed reviews of it and the system has a problem tracking breaking balls at times. The article recapped some of Manfred's other stupid idea that he's rolling out in 2021 to experiment with in the Minors before he forced them in the Majors. Here's my idea in lieu of robo-ump. I call him the Astro-Ump, or camera-ump. The ump calling the zone watches through this camera angle for help with calls. Perhaps he even has a booth with quick replay ability.
