I’ll be there. I won’t be a 100% but I’ll be there.
So if an “old fat ass cracker” with his dominate arm all trussed up in a sling can fake all the obstacles, field strip an AK & eat the peeps with a strange hand (weak side), catch a ride for the run, shoot pistol and rifle with one hand and clear the chug with no spew anybody can do it. It just a matter of doing it. So when’s the sign up? |

Getting set up for SE. Mount should be here this week.
Depending on how I like them I may switch the housing for a BNVD to get the extra durability and dovetail. Attached File |

Put custom (junky label maker) range marks on my turret labels on my scope. I found at East I was off by a bunch at long range. I don't have a range for practicing at 400+ yards so I kinda winged it. At least the range on the turret is marked IAW my rifle and load. I won't leave the 460 untouched next year.
I also put together a dedicated Peep rifle. It is not hala CW but it will suit my budget and a 4x ACOG won't work for my eyes on a 400+ yard target. My pistol purchase paid off. My son and I shared it and brought home prizes equal to it's purchase price. My dedicated Peep rifle contains Peep parts but is not CWAR hala. Attached File Attached File Attached File |

The damn pegboard I had beat until I got to the top and the rain swollen pegs would not fit. They replaced the pegs after my run. I got that when I heal a bit. What does the bench press do for anything at East or SE? Classic has a bench type event but the others don’t. I do dumbbell presses but not as much weight as you. I wish the run was 3 miles during the event. Then the lards would not beat me. |

@ErikS
Dead’s are good for many different muscle groups, from legs to glutes, hips, back, neck, arms and grip. I primarily do Romanian deadlifts to focus on back and core. Strengthens the muscles that support and immobilize the spine. Helps eliminate back pain. Proper warm up, cool down, stretching and foam rolling is key to success with any workout but especially important for these. As to bench, it works muscle groups that support others. Too many pull ups and not enough chest will result in plateauing before you’ve actually peaked. Previously I had done pushups (50, 60, 70 etc) and started wearing a weight vest and resistance bands. I’m looking to build more muscle, but also ensure it’s endurance capable. I have a new workout plan to start following shortly, will see how it goes. I like the idea of a longer run but 1/2 mile is perfect for cola. People that are pushing 6 and 5 minute mile pace will arrive oxygen deprived for the shooting portion. As will anyone running a slower pace depending on their fitness level. Good stress innoculation exercise. When training, usually end up with longer distances. PM me your address when you get time, have event patches to send to you. |

@KaiK guess it wasnt 80% then
@PA-Minuteman Pretty sure I have your info. Patches should be arriving any day then will ship out. (Snafu in the delivery, some arrived- the rest this week. Working down the list) |

Ran 3 miles today, I do a core workout that involves a 20lb kettle bell and sit-ups, Back/side extensions one of those pommel horse type things. I hold the kettle bell as I do the reps It helped me pick up the atlas ball twice at East.
I also do a shoulder isometric exercise that simulates holding a pistol using a 20lb dumbbell. It is helpful for strengthening my arms and hands for pistol shooting. Once my bicep is happy I will go back to other exercises such as pull-ups and presses. |

Hill sprints this AM, chest and back after work.
I've substituted dumbbells for bench due to ongoing shoulder issues. Wendler doesnt agree but the programming works out ok. work sets 3x75 3x90 5x105 other stuff after |

I did Crossfit on Monday. I've been resting after that; I've felt pretty run down this week. I'm still tracking my diet via MyFitnessPal.

Every one of them had a malfunction. Of course they all worked fine when I checked them out at the range. Suppressed scorpion was great for the shoot. Didn't need to worry about earpro. And folding the stock for the running portion was really convenient. |

Ran a 10k run and gun today. This was my second one and I made sure to improve over last time. This one reinforced that I still need to do more cardio/endurance. Equipment wise things went well. My two biggest takeaways were that I need to put a red dot on my Acog as there were several stages where the magnification was a hindrance, and that the AUG needs a better port cover as the outer part of it came off when I was running and caused a malfunction when I went to chamber a round. Other than that the AUG worked well. I was able to clear all the rifle targets except for the 500 yard target, which was my fault for not taking the extra time to see if my rounds matched up with the Acog's BDC. Overall I improved over last year and am lookimg forward to the one in March.

Sighted in my dedicated Peep Rifle. I got my new ALG FFT installed but had not shot it since I did some scope swapping. It will need tuning to the load of my choice when I get closer to my next shoot. It was to think I decided to build a rifle just for Peep runs. It may not be CW compliant because it does not have enough G rail but my installed rail is tagged with a Peep by ALG and I won it at E6. So that is that.
Maybe one day I will put a G rail on a rifle so I can be a cool kid. |
