Did you notice they made a point of showing that only 2 Delta boys showed up in Tripoli, and then when they greater the Cheif, they said "we are tasked with sensitive document destruction"? It seemed to be made a very pointed stab at someone. They were there for the documents, not so much to save anyone. At the end, the C130 shows up to pick up the bodies and it's a Libyan flagged bird......he says.."still, no Americans" Someone should hang. Totally agree. I'm sorry that you feel that way. knowing that our defense budget is hundreds of billions of dollars, it's ABSOLUTELY UNFORGIVABLE to put an ambassador in a situation like that. afterall, we're talking about one of 12 "embassy/diplomatic outposts" that are in dangerous areas. not 50 or 60 that we have to protect. it's about 1000 miles from benghazi to Jerusalem, isn't the range of an F16 about 2600 miles? I was finally able to rent it on Amazon and it was a powerful movie. I've read the book twice but in the movie I found it impossible to follow which character each person was. The only one I could keep track of was Jack. I would rate it up there with Saving Private Ryan for emotional impact and showing what our men in uniform actually do.

I saw it tonight as I rented it from the box. It was definitely riveting and makes you ponder how well our higher ups in the government really want to see us fail globally. I've watched it twice today after getting it yesterday. Great movie. I haven't had that much emotion run through me since BHD.
Here's a few things I think we should take away from this event. The government will outright hang your ass out to dry. It will lie and decieve to further its own end game. The Obama admin helped ISIS gain another foothold in another country by its actions in Libya. Clinton lied, was caught and has continued to lie about the events leading up to 9/11/2012. She is still free and running for president. Think on that. These men, these warriors knew the price that could and in this case was paid. It should give you great hope to know that there are Men of exceptional honor and fortitude still alive and well in our generations that will do the great, right, just and horrible things so we can have all we do. God bless such men. Just a nasty civi. |

How dare you suggest that I'm indifferent and rationalizing. Secondly of course profession matters. In other words one's life experiences will shape opinion and view. My intention of posting is thread isn't to derail it into a GD shit show. The OP wanted to know where to get the movie and subsequently a few folks posted how upsetting the movie was. My comments were meant to give a professional perspective on these types of situations, not to diminish the bravery of all of those Americans. If that sounds like I'm trying to be "tough" then so be it. As for Hillary I believe she very well be the anti-Christ but that doesn't change the fact that lying to the American public is pretty normal for any administration. Her, Susan Rice, and the rest soldiered for black Jesus and went out and lied so that the false narrative of how stable N. Africa was and that Islam is the religion of peace could continue through the election. I'd have expected nothing less from that crowd but If we're going to hate HRC, and I do, then let's hate her for the right reasons. As for the response capability I think I've said my piece. If one of you can explain how that could have been done better, given the actual mission parameters, then I'd like to hear it. Start a thread, state your credentials and lay out exactly how that mission should have been conducted. And yes credentials count because otherwise it's sort of just feel-good off gassing. |

The world is way to busy to commit those assets as they're off killing people in other places. Nope, it's dangerous work and it's God's work but at the end of the day these boys signed up for the program. It's easy to blame Sec State Clinton but the reality is that these Ops have gone on long before her and will go on long after. I'm not trying to make light of their deaths but perhaps just add perspective. Quoted:
First of all stop insulting me. And yes credentials count because otherwise it's sort of just feel-good off gassing. are you bipolar or something? you ABSOLUTELY were INDIFFERENT and RATIONALIZING that their death was "nothing to get upset about". the guy wasn't insulting you. he was commenting on your damn post, using your own damn words.. |

I saw it tonight as I rented it from the box. It was definitely riveting and makes you ponder how well our higher ups in the government really want to see us fail globally. We barter for the return of a traitor and release many evil men back into the world. We have men and women all over the globe trying to do their job while the pResident goes on a world apology tour. What is happening? I can't imagine the world left for our children. View Quote When you take into account events like this and the massive influx of illegal aliens here and in Europe, the talk of getting rid of borders etc; do you still question the idea that the powers that be want a one world government? |

watched it last night. Wow.
I can see it though. Working for the .gov, sections within the same department can't work together without higher approval. I can definitely see the troubles they had with communication/asset sharing |

I read the book.
Just rented the movie from Redbox earlier this week. This is a rare instance where I liked the movie better than the book. It's usually the other way around. |
