Who's the big dude with the sword and the teal hair? I'm just casually aquatinted with Warhammer, so I'm not sure if he's someone important or just a servant of chaos..

Some flavor of eldar avatar of khaine. They channel the spirit of their dead into wraithbone robots and/or sacrifice them to summon aspects of their gods to fight.

The deathwatch fights xenos, they are less focused on chaos.

Essentially if an avatar shows up in a story, they play up how badass it is just to have it get beat up by whomever they want to look more badass.

@Lokjell and @Redarts - Thanks.

It seems like this is ripe for a big budget movie franchise. But after seeing that Thundercats abomination posted earlier, maybe it's better being left alone.

You can watch this for now.  Give it a chance.  The animation gets better in the later episodes.

HELSREACH - Part 1: Prologue - A Warhammer 40k Story

There was also an UltraSmurfs movie a few years back but it wasn't that good.  Had one or two good scenes though.

Not a table top nerd, and don’t care about the books. But I love the lore, and the games are fantastic.

I need to build another PC so I can play the new game.

@RandomGuy1911A1

I don't play works, so couldn't help you with that. But I believe they are going to be getting new figures and stats soon.

As for Primaris, I am playing Deathwatch currently (sort of special forces space marines that hunt xenos across the galaxy) and the big plus for me is the Intercessor squads. As long as you have 5 Intercessors, you can mix and match another 5 models from any unit that has the infantry keyword and attach them to your squad to gain their special abilities.

For example:

4 Intercessors
1 Intercessor Sergeant
1 Aggressor
4 Hellblasters

Unless you are dead set on a different Army, I would highly suggest playing your Primaris as Deathwatch.

Thanks. I hadn't looked at Deathwatch yet. I do have two intercessor squads so I'll definitely look into it.

Most safe money is on the Orks getting their updated codex in the next 60 days, with a lot of rumbling that there will be new kits to go with it.  I might wait a bit to try to cook up a list.  While some codecies were fairly similar to their index lists, a good many more had enough changes to make some entries popularity in the community change drastically.

Yep.  Rumblings from my FLGS is that Thraka will evolve into a Prime-ork that can challege a Primarch.

I decided to convert all of the Primaris stuff I had acquired and planned to use for a Dark Angels ultima-founding Primaris chapter and use them for Deathwatch.  I picked up the DW codex, cards, and four upgrade packs for the shoulder pads today.  I'll get a box of Aggressors when they come in as well.

Now to figure out the best way to remove the left pauldron on all these Intercessor and Inceptors...

I'm probably going to regret posting this in the land of guns are serious bidness all the time and fuck you for having fun...but......I made a bolter.

Or at least an AR pistol that kinda looks like one.

Had a 7.5 inch upper that I don't shoot much since I buit a 10.5 incher and it just grew into this.
And yes...it should have been in .50 Beowulf or .458 Socom or some other big bore, but I already had the barrel and can afford to magdump 5.56 in the stupid pursuit of fireballs.

I found a guy that posted files for an airsoft bolter conversion on Thingverse and had them 3d printed in ABS.  Cost me just 20 bucks.
Then I modified them to what I needed and painted them.  There's a visible seam where I glued it that didn't really show up until I painted it...which bugs me.  But I want it to be abused and get worn so no big deal.  And it's just rattle canned and the emblems are attached with RTV, so I can redo it later if I want.

That's for the bottom grip.  It's attaches to a picatinny rail on the bottom of the handguard.  The Adams Arms piston and front site are from the old build.  The handguard itself is the old Samson Evo 4ex I had on it originally with Samson panels on it.  I drilled out the side holes and installed rivnuts for the hardware.  The Aquilas are modified pendants from Etsy.  The Icon Mechanicus is cast brass from Etsy.  And the Aquila on the lower and mags are Forge World etched brass that I color filled.

I picked up the forgebane Box the other week. Nowhere near the deal as dark imperium or know no fear, but still pretty good.

Biggest thing i noticed is that there were craptons of extra bits for the necrons. In fact, only two extra parts could double the amount of necrons you could build.

So i tried my hand at molding and casting for the first time. I will now be able to double the size of the necron army from this box from duplicating just two parts.Attachment Attached File

In the past two months or so I have picked up the following:

Starter Kits:
Forgebane
Know No Fear
First Strike
Dark Imperium

Start Collecting:
Tau
Tyranid

Also various other Imperial, SM, and Death Guard units.

I'm essentially looking to have a large variety of different play style armies to test out. What should I pick up, from the "Start Collecting" sets, next? Eldar, Orks, Daemons, whatever ?

From what I've heard, it plays like Diablo but slower and more deliberate/crunchy instead of smooth 'murder everything' kinda gameplay.  Supposed to have a multiplayer patch coming out soon, but I don't know the details.
