Yeah I’m guessing there are going to be some pretty cool things previewed over the next three days or so.

I recently bought the book Imperator: Wrath of the Omnissiah. I'm sort of disappointed that the author (Gav Thorpe) decided that the Mechanicus was gender neutral and used pronouns like ve, vis, etc.
I've never come across that in any other book in which the Mechanicus played a major part. I guess it could have happened elsewhere though. |

I'm interested to try them out but that "Base coat, technical, done" sequence is eerily similar to 1.) base coat, 2.) ????, 3.) profit. I'm very curious what all is included in that "Technical" stage. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

Quoted: I have it as an audible. The ve, vis thing gets a bit old and annoying but luckily its not a big majority of the book. Guess Gav was trying to push a different boundary in that the magos dominus has pretty much abandoned all flesh and human self in pursuit of machine perfection with the Omnissiah. I didnt find it to be an SJW thing. View Quote |

I impulse bought the primaris space marine half of Dark Imperium. Any suggestions as to which chapter I should paint them as?

So, if someone had a slew of Dark Eldar (or whatever they are called now), would someone here know someone interested in possibly purchasing a bit?
And by a bit, I mean a bunch. And the big ass Battle Foam 1520 xl case that won't begin to hold all of it? |

I made a threesome of angry mecha-chickens.
Bunch of Instagram links below. All three together. My Freeblade Knight Warglaive. He's a vengeance-crazed close-combat specialist. Note the cropped Helverin shoulders that let me still swap out arms after assembly. My Ace Armiger Helverin. Note the Warglaive shoulder armor, and double sensor head, to show his higher status. My standard trooper/vanilla Armiger Helverin. Got two more of him to build. Best, JBR |

I don't play the table top game. Having said that, I would like a Warhound.
After looking at the price for the models and paints though, I probably won't. I could spend that money on gun stuff. |

|
|
Did anyone pre-order the new paints? I didn't bother, but I'm shocked to see places saying they've already sold out of them based on just pre-orders.

I’ll be getting a dozen or so of them from my FLGS this week for my ‘Nids and IG for sure. I think they’ll be amazing for the bugs. I’m optimistic about them for the IG. I’ve seen some stuff on Facebook that looks like my stuff but I have to do three or four steps to get the same results.
I really want the black to be good. I’m considering selling the. I’ll of my Deathwatch and buying into Black Templar (I love their fluff). Either way, I need something to make black power armor look ok and not take 5 hours and 5 layers of edge highlighting per model. |

Going to be using the MKIII armor and changing the helmet to something more Templar-ish. Lots of robes and shields and chains and shit. Can't wait. |

Anyone know who these baddies are supposed to be? Almost Necron-y but with powers. Weird but neat.

Quoted: But the helmets are the best part of MkIII armor. They're so brutal and intimidating. I think they're regular human psykers, just accurately represented as scary as they should be. View Quote |

Just played with a bunch of contrasts with Wraithbone, Retributor Gold and Leadbelcher primed figures. Guilliman Flesh and Snakebite Leather are amazing. I may build figures without helmets on now
Snakebite gives a really good aged bronze/brass effect when applied over metallic tones. |
|
I’ve used the black and both grays in Primaris models. I was hoping to find a suitable gray to mimic mechanics gray, but so far none have been what I want.
The black looks pretty damn good. I’ll hopefulky finish up a model today in Black Templar colors to know for sure. The Contrast paints seem best suited for irregular and organic shapes. Cloth on IG and cloaks and the carapace on my Nids look really good with very little effort or time with this stuff. Now I have to do 40 stealers, 30 Gants, and a host of Zilla Nids. |
|
Im interested to see how the contrast paints pan out as well. I probably won't use them on my blood angels but I'll be buying about 40 hormaguants for a devastation of Baal diorama I'm working on.

How to Paint: Funko POP! Space Marine Primaris Intercessor |
|
Plating with the contrast paints at GW on Saturday, and it's clear that there is still some learning curve, and some colors are more forgiving than others. Still, the results of even the blotchiest coat on a Primaris marine test figure would look pretty good in a squad of them on the table for a game. I'm going to be testing out a bunch of ideas and techniques over the next couple weeks. I really want to dig out my renegade guard and give them a go with these.
|
|
Agreed. I'm having similar issues with blotchiness and pooling. However, they definitely pass the four foot rule.
I've read that they benefit from both Zenithal priming and the old "thin down (use the medium in this case, not water)then two thin coats" way of doing things, even if gee dubs pushes one thick coat. I'm going to try that technique next. |

Apocalypse is looking interesting. Alternating turn sequence and not removing casualties until all units on both sides have activated change the game significantly.

Quoted: I would fully support 9th edition, whenever it eventually releases, to use both of these rules. I’d also want a top of turn initiative roll every turn instead of it being only at the beginning of the game with a chance to seize. View Quote |

Basing my Armigers. Watered-down Elmer's glue, cat litter, two-part epoxy, and rocks from the front yard.
