View Quote @thesilvercord My shooting buddy has a VP9 (don't think it's the tactical) and it works fine with the 6365RDS for my FS M&P 9mm. Safariland if you're a Glockbro.
It's harder if you have a Beretta 92 series with light attached, I found these guys: US Duty Gear US-60 |

From the factory, they are extremely tight and never really break in. The correct answer is to unvelcro them, get a heat gun, and slightly reshape them. That's a pain. Second, they attch with whatever aftermarket MOLLE style strap you choose. All of them stick up/down beyond the pouch and are a point of friction when you move/sit. It's a comfort issue when you wear the belt sitting. All in all...they are not bad but they are not great either. They work and are durable and have good mag retention...but often too much retention. It is a big issue with the AR mag pouches as the metal mags can scrape the plastic inserts badly and PMAGs can get full on stuck. YMMV...I'm just not that impressed with them. |

I go against the grain a bit and use a G-Code because the Safariland 6000 series are bulky as fuck. I prefer a streamlined set up that I can cover with a windbreaker if needed because I am unable to envision a scenario where running around looking like a SF door kicker would be better than keeping an average Joe low profile.
I also don't own a Multicam outfit for this reason. |

I can't find one for my 365XL. I know it's not meant to be a "duty" gun but it fits my little manlet hands so well.

Safariland.
This thread reminded me that I need to get a True North plate. |

Do the Safariland light bearing RDS holsters retain without a light attached? I don’t keep a light on my pistol IWB but have one I can attach for OWB.
I’m other words - I need something that can work with or without a light. I’d prefer not to buy two holsters if possible. That Dara mentioned previously has me intrigued. |

Possibly a question that will get me laughed at but here goes:
Does anyone make a good universal holster for a battle belt? I don’t mind it not being Kydex, just thinking I want something I can use with and without a light, and better yet, with a variety of pistols. If I roll out with a full size M&P or a P320 or a 1911, I’d like to see if there’s a holster that can be used with similar sized guns. OP: Apologies if this diverts the thread… I don’t know if it’s worth it’s own thread is all and this one was handy, so… here we are. TIA. |

Safariland doesn't make CZP01 lightbearing holsters so I went with T1Concealed for my holster using the QLS system.

Both my Glock and Staccato Safariland holsters have their barrel plugs removed to clearance for threaded barrels. If you want, OT Defense, the same dudes who make the Nub Mod, also sell a threaded barrel plug, which is simply shorter to not interfere with the barrel. https://store.otdefense.com/products/threaded-barrel-plug-for-6000-series-holsters |

What a thread.
I'm narrowing down quickly. "Safariland and True North is always the answer" and there is a picture of this setup AND it has the leg strap. Isn't that like having a belt with suspenders? A few of the Safariland holsters appeared to come like this: "Safariland Als Holster With Mid-ride Ubl" does this need the leg strap too? Why not just go this route as it will be nearer my belt line as outlined? Not much love for the T-rex arms ragnarok? See some G-Code's in the mix. |

View Quote Any full size pistol on a battle belt worn around the hips is going to have some mechanical leverage at the end of its moment arm, even on a rigid mount like the True North, so the strap keeps the flapping/banging to a minimum. Mid and Low ride UBL is even worse. But just as important, having a leg strap also keeps you from pulling the whole rig up when you go to draw. As for T-Rex, got no love at all, but that's personal, and besides, they don't have active retention. |

Another vote for G code. Good service and options and my belts been great. I do need to order a new holster to accept a light on my battle belt gun.

I have the same problem, a drop leg holster fixed it and freed up some room on my belt as i am kind of skinny.
