Indeed. As these socialist lefties mean the opposite of what they say, a "threat to democracy" is actually a threat of bringing democracy back, amd defeating their efforts to install socialism under authoritarian rule. So happy that the truckers are doing this, remaining resilient, and setting an example for gun owners in the United States of America. |

Quoted: They are paralyzed at the C2 level because they know they are fucked and in a catch 22. They can't sit back and do nothing or they look even more inept, and they can't confront the protesters because that would reinforce the point that the protesters are making and turn even more people against the government. It's glorious. View Quote Has anyone gotten any word on how this is really polling with your average I don't pay attention to politics voter? I know how the right feels, I know how the left feels but really it's that middle of the road retards that controls ostensibly democratic countries. It takes convincing them to win and lose things like this and generally they like to have them on board or at least not giving a fuck either way before doing anything drastic. I'm going to assume that things aren't going great for the socialists if they aren't pushing polls showing how much the average voter hates this. |

They have the most seats; however, they do not have a majority. If the a majority of the Members of Parliament vote against the government, then Trudeau's minority government will come to an end. This will most likely mean a new election. A no-confidence motion could happen on Monday |

Quoted: Can you please explain what that means ? View Quote IIRC as a citizen of Canada you vote for a member of parliament. The MP is a member of a coalition within parliament, and the largest coalition then puts for a candidate for Prime Minister. This PM can be unseated if a majority of parliament votes that they no longer have confidence in that PM. This, in turn, leads to either a call for another PM candidate to be put forth, and barring a success at that...a general election to be called. Basically the average joe in Canada has no direct impact on whom the PM will be nor do they have a direct way of booting the POS. I am sure I am getting some of the significant details wrong, but it explains why many in the US may wonder "what the hell were the Canucks doing to vote in that idiot Trudeau" when the true answer is they did not. Further, many on this board (for instance) would vote for a conservative (however that is defined in Canada) member of Parliament, who may (probably) not be in the power coalition in Parliament itself. TLDR: Truckers Honk. PM and ruling coalition are helpless to stop it. A vote of no confidence in the PM could be floated in Parliament. This could lead to a loss of power on the part of not only the PM, but the ruling coalition itself. |

Quoted: Am I right in thinking the PM isn't elected by the voters but by parliament. I'm speaking of general elections. View Quote The party is elected, the leader of the party becomes the Prime Minister. So yes, the PM is elected by the voters and the Governor General has to approve of it. The GG also has the power to throw the PM out due to incompetence and is under great pressure to do so at the moment. The will of the people is taking hold and both of the scenario's to remove Trudeau and his party from power are looking more and like that is exactly what is going to happen. |

A shameless copy-pasta from another thread, I just giggled as this popped into my head and I feel like sharing it again
Remember guys, once upon a time there was a media-favorite wishcasting headline just popped into my head, because it might actually fit in the case of Canada's King, Castro's bastard son. [Ah-hem] "The environment inside of It's Hitler hiding in the bunker at the end of WW2 as the allies tanks and planes were audible and not far away, closing in, while he is desperate and yelling at his subordinates." Funny. It might actually fit this time. I wonder if the "but muh bothsides" media with no dog in the fight will dust that badboy off and label Prime-Minister Blackface with it. |

I think it's funny that the government is trying to wait out a group of people that live in their trucks as part of their job. Did the city think that the truckers would get bored or uncomfortable? A bunch of them seem to be kicking back and having a blast.
