This baby boomer was raised poor and worked and paid into the system for over fifty years without ever drawing a unemployment check. The only thing the government ever gave me was a tour of Vietnam. All this socialism really blossomed under LBJs great society and like rust it has never stopped. If there is anything free to you someone else has to pay for it. Socialism is a mouse never asking why there is free cheese in the mouse trap. There is a great storm of socialism coming, prepare for it the best you can and never stop fighting against it. Don't forget baby boomers sucked up communist pushed anti war agitprop that basically undermined their own country's efforts in the Vietnam war.
They're also the reason "Russia" is being pushed as they're the "old people" now. Every week on talk radio one calls up screeching about how "we should never have trusted those reds", Trump is some kind of communist, etc.. |

We should round them all up and put them in internment cam.. *cough* retirement homes.

short answer: yes... Their parents, the Greatest Generation, fought WWII. They left for France and the Pacific at 17 and 18, fought overseas for years, came home, used the GI Bill to get an education or a trade, then worked their asses off to pay off the tiny house they built. The lived depression-era living, saving a little of each paycheck and accumulating a small nest egg. Their children, the Boomers, lived in an age of plenty. They grew up, often with new schools. They went to college in a time when tuition was cheap and you actually could pay your way with a part time and/or summer job. The started work in an era when the corporate pension existed: Work 20, 25 years, retire at 55 with 60% pension. Had inexpensive health insurance. They voted themselves great government handouts and ran up a zillion in national debt. They started the "But I Want it Now" lifestyle. They spend 110% of what they earned, have nothing set aside for retirement, and are relying on someone else to care for them. They had it all: Cheap college, cheap housing, great benefits. They stand to benefit from the greatest transfer of wealth in history, as their parent die and leave them the nest egg. The children of Boomers?: Lets see. they are inheriting an essential broke country. Education is now unaffordable. Those that go to college will have massive debt. When they start work, their real wages - accounting for inflation- are considerably lower than the Boomers. They will not have a pension, instead get a 401K. Those few that do have pensions are in "tier 5" or some altered plan that requires higher contributions, longer work span, for far less benefits. When they marry and have kids, family insurance plans are far more expensive. Oh, and since the Boomers still demand more than their fair share of the pie, this generation will pay higher taxes, which are funneled directly to the Boomers. Boomers lived in a gravy age, consuming the wealth of their parents, and they are now - as a generation - going to impoverish their children and grandchildren.... View Quote |

Millennials have all the youth and intolerable, embarrassing, levels of outright stupidity overlaid by wilful ignorance and mental laziness, and fueled by the jealousy and class envy (as illuminated for me below) of socialists.

I want everybody to take a step back and consider the bitterness, anger and envy displayed in this thread. It’s only going to get worse, as inflation eats away at our hopes and dreams.
Inflation caused by overspending of Every generation. Millennials might have a case, if they were voting en mass for fiscal austerity. But they aren’t. If anything, they’re even lazier and more Libtarded than previous generations, when considered as a whole. No, the problem isn’t generational. It’s between Conservatives and Liberals. And fiscal conservatives have been outvoted since FDR. I’ve seen a lot of class envy displayed lately. It’s going to get much worse, even within our ranks. Plan accordingly. |

The entire premise is that the majority of problems destroying this country are courtesy of the boomers and the shit show they allowed and encouraged Every social and political complaint you have was put into motion before boomers could vote. The degradation didn't start in the 70's or 80's, the fact is that boomers turned the economy in the mid 80's. If you didn't live through the dismal period from 1972 through 1985, you don't have a complaint to compare. This country would be greatly improved by a philosophy if STFU, MYOB, and take care of yourself. Also DBAS or a dumbass, especially a lazy dumbass. I expect that our lives would greatly improved if everyone had to run a business with a payroll, too. Add a little clarification to our lives. Don't like the culture and nation? Start holding politicians and social activists accountable. That doesn't happen by bitching in an echo chamber. It requires paying attention, for starters. |

The M16 and all it's forced economizations. Major failure. Soldiers dead. It took even more dollars they profited from to fix it, to hell with the cost of funerals, that's on those losers for being war fodder. It's been a downhill fight ever since, and we have now reached bottom, where we discover who sold out for the bottom dollar because their lack of self discipline and "do whatever you like" attitude has comp'd them. Quoted: Let me get this straight. You're saying boomers are working past retirement age for insurance. So they're still working. So they're still paying taxes, SS, medicare, etc. just like you and me. View Quote When they actually finally retire, the following generation will be less advanced in employment stage, and the massive number of boomers who demand to be catered to because they are a population bubble that uses their numbers as a political kudgel.....will then force major tax increases on the generations still working that havent been able to get promoted far enough to absorb those costs. Not true for everyone, but its true enough to be a problem we should tackle NOW. |
