Perhaps. Rolled in around 7:00 pm. Altitude looked to be pretty "up there".
Zoomed back a bit.

I saved that video to watch.

I've heard of the event through some geology channels that I watched.  This looked very comprehensive.  I'm excited to watch it, I just haven't carved out the time.

ETA: I also want to read/watch about the Maunder Minimum & "Little Ice Age."

It is a standard part of western civilization. Those groups in the west have had no issue using the terms, until recently as both of them recognize Christ was an actual person.

Seems like a more accurate term to me. The numbering system has changed before, no reason it can't change again.

The Anno Domini dating system was devised in 525 by Dionysius Exiguus to enumerate years in his Easter table. His system was to replace the Diocletian era that had been used in older Easter tables, as he did not wish to continue the memory of a tyrant who persecuted Christians

Except they didn't change the system, they just changed the labels. See the above 4-panel, which adequately mocks this change.

BCE and CE don’t refer to ‘Christ Era’?

On a related note wonder if this event helped fuel the Viking age.   A theory is that there was global cooling that took place that turned the Scandinavian countries colder.  The change in climate made the land unable to support the population so people turned viking in order to survive.

Thatbks for rhe explanation. I will continue using bc and ad as before. I will also avoid caps to upset the grammar nazis

Yep, the yunger dryas die off. Humanity nearly was snuffed out. Makes me wonder what civilizations were killed in the cradle, especially as archeology continues to find evidence of ancient meeting places and temples like Gobekli Tepe, which seems to substantially predate Sumeria based on some estimates.

Not only did 536 usher-in the Dark Ages but there was a volcanic event 2000 years before that, the gave us the Passover, the plagues on Egypt and the Exodus stories. It happened on the island of Santorini in the south of Greece around 1620-1600 BCE.

Sooo, roughly 2000 years prior to 536.

And there will be another.  We're actually overdo.

If the Yellowstone caldera were to blow, for instance, it would mean a total reset of North America.  The last time it happened it was a big deal and, in theory,  it is why North America was unsettled by any form of primates, until humans reestablished here some 12,000 years ago or so.

Islam has its own calendar (1444 AH is the current year in their calendar).

As far as the Jews go, Jesus was their King sent by God. It would be strange for them not to use BC and AD.

BCE and CE are atheist creations, and I support the appropriation of those acronyms to become Before Christ's Era and Christ's Era.

The date system we used wasn't even a thing until 500 years after that date, and that was only to appease the churches so that everyone could agree on when to celebrate Easter.

No it isn't.

13 months of 28 days each, with a "free day" every year and an extra every 4 years would be far more ideal.

Every month would be exactly 4 weeks, and every year things would fall on the same day as the year before.

If you were born on a Tuesday....your birthday is always on a Tuesday.....perfection.

Look around and note all the decay of basic services..medical care...ect.
Bible points to a future where close to the end 1/3rd of humanity will die...in fact it says that outside of the Return of The King...all humanity would die.
How many modified virus / botched vaccines until the entire world is a wasteland of medical disasters?
Not to mention war and open conflict.
