Can you imagine being the guy sitting in some room opening 1,000 boxes a day? I imagine this is going to take forever.

A confirmation number and/or RMA# would give us hopes there's actual systems in place to help them keep their shit together. RMA # tracked via software vs paper stuffed in a box Serial #? I know that's an assumption, but so is assuming they're not using anything to track this whole shindig. Simple fact is you either trust the company to make good on what their representative stated or you don't, going back and forth wringing your hands about the possible outcomes is pointless. http://www.whatevo.com/media/posts/Van-Wilder.jpg Worried, No. It's trying to decide whether or not to trust a company to make it right after said company lied and knowingly put our troops at risk. Only reason they "trying" to make it right is because they were caught in their lies. They have no reason to act quickly because they know no one will buy their sights again. Had this not come out everyone would still be loving their 10 yr old sights that never failed them. |

sent a email for the return info for my three 512s...they sent back that I need to submit three separate forms , did that at noon today and got approved about 2 pm.
I guess they want 3 different boxes sent to them...getting about $411 back for each...05 , 06 and 2012 dates. |

Got my approval letters for my two. I'm still not real comfortable sending them back. Might end up with no Eotechs and no money.

Hundreds of us are sending in eotechs based on one fucking email sent to one guy. No, I sent mine in based on an emailed response from a company respresentative. Another thought I had is if 250k units get returned at an average of $550.00 a piece they'll have to pay out
$137,500,000.00 to customers but settled at 25 mil with the gov. Yeah, this'll get resolved quickly. |

Also, I really don't think even close to that many people will return their optics. ARFCOM and the internet in general represents a tiny fraction of people who own EOTech's. I spoke with many, many people this week about the whole ordeal who had not a clue about it. Only a very small percentage of owners will be sending their optics in if I had to guess. |

I'm looking at it like this...
I know the 512 is defective, the company admitted they all are. So I would never put it back on any firearms I own. It can't be trusted to function. So I can stick it in a drawer in my shop and let it rot, or send it back and maybe get my $460 back. I guess I could have done a video with a couple pounds of Tannerite... |

I shipped on the 11th, they tried delivery on the 12th and still have not updated tracking info. The tracking issues may have something to do with USPS in Ann Arbor, MI. According to this Soldier System Article the volume of returned sights is overwhelming the office; it sound like the system at that office is being adjusted to deal with the volume. If L3 is retrieving the sights on their own directly from the office they might not be scanning them as received or out for delivery and just getting thrown into L3's truck as they arrive. |

Sent mine out this morning. The guy at the little post office here said it was the fourth one he's seen this week.
These questions may have been answered somewhere in the 27 pages prior to this one but I didn't check every post so here goes: -Has EOTech or their parent company made any formal announcement of the issue and their buy-back? The SOP in business nowadays is supposed to be full disclosure ASAP and doing everything to fix the issue to placate customers. It harkens back several years to the problems Firestone had with their 500's. I remember my parents got free replacements for the set they had on SUV. Firestone took a hit but are still in business. Even Chipotle is figuring it out. I've looked at the EOTech site several times but there is no mention. Which brings me to: -Is EOTech still selling the damn things? They are still listed on their website along with being available and in-stock at Cabelas, MidwayUSA, and Bass Pro. I thought they are all defective and no redesign or corrective action has taken place. The whole thing just doesn't pass the smell test. |
