COMPLETE AND TOTAL BULLSHIT. Gawd, I am so tired of this false portrayal of the Air Force culture. It's unprofessional, and perpetuates incredibly inaccurate stereotypes. Because everyone knows the Air Force's favorite saying is "FORE!" https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/30315/080923-F-8228P-004_JPG-958425.JPG View Quote |

Never was in the military. Have a question. Are there actually times where someone would hand in a letter like that?
I did work in a place that was paramilitary, and I could see it happening there, heck I am surprised I didn't in the end, but I wanted the option to come back if needed. |

Quoted: Every time there was a new idiotic policy announcement, I'd ask my chief "is this part of the retention program?" Things were so stupid that people would re-enlist, get knocked up, check into the loony bin, or eff up a knee to get off that ship. I extended my enlistment 7 months to get off of it. I can tell you that when I was on active duty, they would bring everyone who was ETS'ing up to battalion HQ to meet with the LTC & do an outprocessing interview. As well as putting suggestions for changes to improve morale in writing (either signed or unsigned), you were able to say whatever you wanted about whoever you wanted & it was confidential - so if you worked for a dickhead that was your chance to get it off your chest. |
