Quoted: Quoted: Definitely After I put in the G and swapped to the Steiner, the first 3 shot group I was serious about (after bore sighting) measured at .147 MOA. I was very pleasantly surprised. I have (almost) repeated that on several occasions since. I can average @.25 MOA with Federal Premium 168 gr SMK's. I'm very happy with that. It's a result of the gun more than me. I know enough about bench shooting to not fuck up the gun's performance. The range where I can shoot 600 yards requires a qualification at 300 yards before you're allowed to shoot on the 400, 500 or 600 yard ranges (all steel). The qualification consists of a 5" black circle at 300 yards. You get 5 shots and all shots must be within the circle. A qualification officer spots your group. I took my time and put 5, dead center, at about .25MOA. He was pretty amazed and I had to spend a few minutes going over the details of my rifle. He asked me to do it again (he called the other qualification officer over to watch) and I did it again with the same results. They said they regularly see $5k+ custom rigs that don't shoot as well. Like I said, I know enough about bench shooting technique to allow the rifle to do what it does and not fuck it up too much. Maybe that's why I enjoy my bolts over my AR's. |

Quoted: I've got 5 lowers just sitting around I need to do something with. 4 completely built with optics and everything else. I should get more IR stuff though, for reasons. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: High quality, reliable rifles, with forged bolts, CHF barrels, nice triggers, and everything already tuned up to work together, for about $1500. The way things are going, I'm leaning towards buying while they're available. I've already got three ARs built up the way I want, but having a couple G rifles with decent optics/lights/IR lasers set up sounds comforting. We'll see. Quoted: Quoted: Family is more important than toys or even tools. And eventually digital NV will become functional. The Sionyx Aurora was pretty good for the money when you could get them for $300, and they could have been more useful if they'd stripped a bunch of the camera features out. Not going to compete with analog, and very ir illumination dependant, but was way better than a flashlight. Sounds like Lube Digital is the future. It is not the present, but even in the present it can be useful for static observation, or event recording. |

Quoted: I guess I've been fortunate that I've never been too round. Closest I ever got to 200 was 195 in college. That was my baseball bod. 195, body fat <10%. I wish I had that body again. I could really use it for evil knowing what I know now. Youth is truly wasted on the young. Round is a shape I went through some shit and ballooned up, unfortunately. But I realize it, and am working to get in better shape now since the beatus runs in the family. I weigh a lot more now that I should. Down 15ish so far with another 60ish to go. I guess I've been fortunate that I've never been too round. Closest I ever got to 200 was 195 in college. And, my jobsite electrician just texted me to let me know that he took his girlfriend to the hospital over shortness of breath when he got home earlier this morning. She tested positive for the vid.

Quoted: Weight is down to 193 and BP is looking good. Looks like the gal at the doc's office that took it couple months back got the reading wrong or the machine wasn't calibrated properly. According to that reading my BP was 137/100 which didnt make sense to me as that's higher than my last physical when my weight was substantially higher. Yesterday at my apt it was reading 129/82.
