Quoted: Picked up a used Smith 325PD. Once I got it cleaned up it appeared that Smith forgot to put a forcing cone in the barrel. Just a burred up straight edge. Used my kit to cut a forcing cone and deburr the barrel. Probably why the bore was so filthy. The bore also has two loose spots in it but I don’t see any rings so it was probably made that way, not squib caused. We’ll see how it shoots. https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/54333/D13AA2C5-C992-4B8C-9900-BA96AEFBD43A-2329755.jpg https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/54333/21AF78AF-1221-4E1C-9F49-EBD2B66BA073-2329756.jpg View Quote I've seen that before too, on other Smith's. Pretty sad. |

View Quote Thats a beauty! I previously thought (for years) the 8 3/8” Smiths would be very odd to handle. When I got a M53 22 Jet last summer with an 8 3/8” barrel I was pleasantly surprised at how well it handled. |

Quoted: Noted! Then what? Can I screw a barrel on myself? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: lol this is my question too. As much as I'd love to have custom gun built im pretty sure it's gonna cost me more than a new k comp or model 66. I may be off though because my only knowledge of custom guns in in the bolt action rifle world lol Get the Kunhausen manual for S&W revolvers. It explains how to do everything. Attached File I got this project waiting for me to sit down and give it the attention it deserves. The 2" barrel, cylinder and all the small parts are going into this once I get the nickel stripped off the frame side plate and crane. One of these days I will try to make these two sad stories a happy one. |

What's the general consensus on those Ruger Wranglers? I was kicking around the idea of getting one for my daughter to match her little Crickett rifle. Solid guns? Hold out for a single six and pay 2.5x as much?
