I bought my 03' mini S with 60k miles on it....it's now got 175k on it. No major issues at all. The problem is that most mini owners are soy boys....and bitch about any little thing going wrong because they can't pull out a wrench and fix it themselves. Honestly, mine has been extremely reliable. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

My '99 was the most fun I've ever had in a vehicle. I got it was I was 43 and sold it when I was 55.
At 64, I tried one of the new ones. It was brutally uncomfortable, ridiculously blind to the left side, and way too low to climb in and out of. I wanted to love it. There just wasn't anything enjoyable about it. I doubt if I could go 30 miles in it without hurting. |

View Quote I just sent in an oil sample to black stone labs when I did my last oil change....they said it looked great. I did have to put a clutch in it last year.....but it wasn't hard, just time consuming. Clutch cost me $200. I'm 6'5"....and I can't fit in a Miata very well but I fit in my mini just fine. And my mini has so much more power and torque than any stock Miata I have driven. |

My dad has a special edition Miata. British racing green. Not a big fan of the color, or some of the things he bolted onto it.. but the car is fun to drive. Especially in the Dragon. https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/327887/45645_jpg-1200828.JPG View Quote |

How insecure do you have to be to think driving a certain car is some kind of judgement on your masculinity. "I'm not gay so...."
Lol. I'd drive one. The new ones look great. |

There are only two kinds of miata drivers:
Open faggots Closeted faggots |

Isn’t the Miata the secret handshake of cars for gay males? That car literally screams “hey take my asshole”

I am one of those that took out a 2018 Miata for a test drive as I could not understand the hype. After the test drive I still can not understand the hype. I ended up with a Porsche Boxster. I will say if the Miata came stock with a decent motor that was factory warrantied I could see it being a fun car. Like the guy above who said he has a Corvette and they are very different....I agree...I also had a C6 that was way more fun. Heck my Audi A5 sportback and my Mustang 5.0 is more fun than the Miata...the only car other than the Miata I don't get is the Audi TT...however in all fairness to the Miata I don't track my cars...that might make a huge difference in my opinion of them View Quote |

Never been a fan of the car going all the way back to high school when they first came out.
Just not my style. Dont care how well they handle or what you put in them to make them faster. The absolute only way I would ever be in one would be if it were for a spec racing series. Would rather be in something like the American Iron series in mustangs/camaros instead. |

My '99 was amazing. Spent WAY too much time and money on it, but it was the most fun I've had on 4 wheels, or even 2 for that matter. Shoulda foItound a way tokeep it back in the day. Tore out the old soft top and hard top'd it. I rebuilt an old supercharger, gathered all the parts, had it all powdercoated and installed myslef. It saw 3 differ suspensions and countles sets of wheels and tires.
As for the ghey, I suppose that engine bay could pass for the late Liberace's Miata lol. Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File |

Not a Miata however I did drive a MiniCooper RS on a trip to Phoenix. Went from there to the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, and back. Other than almost getting into a fight in Phoenix with some Mexican who thought I was gay because of the car (no shit true story) it was one of the most fun cars I've driven. 6 speed manual , turbo, convertible, and hugged the road like it was on freaking rails. The Miata is the equivalent of "never underestimate the gray haired guy, wearing an Aerostich and riding a dual sport". He's riding for his entertainment only, and will likely humble you if pushed. I was riding a ZX7, had a LOT of off road experience and a few years of riding like a dumbass on the street, I thought I was fast. Holee-Balls was that old guy fast! Dude was so smooth, his lines were perfect, and he would brake SOOO LATE! I learned a lot about riding from that dude |

I've never driven one.. the most fun I have ever had was driving my MGB as a teen ager.. that thing would corner and was very quick. If a Miata drove like that car, then I could see the fun in it. Unfortunately I don't think I could fit in one

I never liked the Miata because I was butthurt when they had just gotten rid of an amazing car in the first and second generation RX-7.
Other than that, I’m just not a convertible person. I like the Miata coupe—except that retractable roof has to weigh a ton. To each his or her own. TC |

Obviously the Miata keeps coming up to the top of the list. I wouldn't mind a older Corvette either. Perhaps a Mustang. Miller Motorsports Park, or whatever they call it now is about an hour away https://www.utahmotorsportscampus.com/ I should probably look into Spec Miata as well. My only performance car right now is a Charger. AWD with the automatic. I'd rather have something with a 5/6speed. And something I wouldn't be too upset if it got bent up. I use to do open road stuff in Nevada with an old Challenger. But that was a long time ago. My dad and a friend ran this Datsun 510 in GT4 (or was in GT3?) back in the 80s when I was a teenager. |
