I didn't want you to leave. Just letting you know I was gonna tone down my banter because others are concerned and its not my thread. I don't want to ACCIDENTALLY get somebody elses thread locked.

My neighbor would come out shooting with these sign stands that he got somewhere. They had targets on them already and I never really thought about where they came from. Turns out this was the same kind of real estate BS, and after they were basically destroyed, he would take the targets off and put them back View Quote Taped targets to it, shot the shit out of it, took the targets off and put it back in my yard. Just give her back the signs, and tell her if she ever does it again you're going to file charges for trespassing and vandalism (or whatever they call it in your state). Problem solved. BTW, if you caught her in the act why didn't you ask her not to? View Quote |

Actually, if he had confronted her about her signs and his private property, that would have probably gotten him prison time in OR. She was entitled to post her signs to sell a minority owned property to a non American family needing shelter after their long journey on his private property, and not be harassed about it. Stupid rich land owner...
Gotta think like a good liberal. Nobody is responsible for their actions, except certain folks, like rich land owners, white people, etc. |

Well, dont put shit on other peoples property without permission... oh well.

Eh. If she called and asked, simple enough to ask her not to do it again and to return the signs. Instead she went full bully mode and threatened dramatic, unwarranted escalation. She shouldn’t be surprised if she never sees those signs again. I find many people will try to be helpful, even if the mistake is your own, as long as you aren’t an asshole about it.

I wouldn't be surprised that if what the OP did isn't a crime in Oregon. In the midst of all this, some businessman paid one of his employees to remove some signs that had been placed on a lot that he owned in the councilwoman's district. While the employee was removing the signs, a guy pulled up and confronted him, then went off about how he couldn't remove the signs (threats, bogus claims about the law, etc). As I recall, things escalated to the point of the police having to get involved, with at least threats (from both sides) of charges being filed. The guy that had put the signs there, then came back and started threatening the employee that had been told to remove them, was a relative of the councilwoman, and they were her campaign signs (placed on private property, without asking anybody for permission). As I recall, she lost. |

Update She found my personal cell phone number and just called 5 times and left 5 threatening messages. Wondered which website she found my personal number? Employees do not give out the number. This is getting better by the hour. View Quote |

It's not the signs. it's the "willful removal of someones property without contacting the owner" etc. Like found money can't just be kept. Even if it's on your property. I'm not at all sure about whether the signs fall into that kind of thing, but it wouldn't surprise me. View Quote In OP's case, she clearly had the means and opportunity to ask for permission in advance, yet chose not to. To make matters worse, she escalated the situation to threats before even having a chance to talk to OP. She gets no sympathy from me. |

FFS, I honestly wonder how some of you manage to get through your day to day lives with the social skills you have. I thought I was a grumpy asshole, but even I don't trash other people's property without at least giving them an hour or two to come get it.
But hey, if enemies are your thing OP, you're doing a fine job. Good luck with that. |
