I've spent the last 3 hrs (real life time). Trying to find a 3 star badger.. Why are they like unicorns? Any tips on where to find one? I can camp out and make one spawn every couple of days but it's only a 2 star. I've got like 7 fkn 2 stars and the buck trinket doesn't work for the badgers apparently..

RE: 3 star Badger Pelt
I had the same problem. On the map try near the E and M in the word Lemonye on the map. There is a creek that forms an "island-like" terrain feature. It is close to the squirrel icon. ETA: Near Eris field and Ringneck Creek. BTW I finally got mine after spending several hours and saying "Fuck it. I'm leaving." |

I've been lucky enough to see 3 star badgers while riding around.
I normally ride with the varmint rifle and a Springfield or bolt action rifle handy and keep sn eye out for needed animals. Pop em when I see em. |

My game seemingly wants to turn every 3 star deer pelt into 2 star now no matter what I use for a one shot head kill. Have tried every rifle combination and arrow combination.
Used to get 3 star deer pelts with auto aiming snap shots using the damn lever action. Now I am boned with every 3 star being turned to shit. I have one more satchel left before I can get the lengends satchel. Need a perfect deer and panther pelt. Also trying to do hatchet challenge on birds of prey is a pain in the ass even with the homing hatchet. |

Ha ha! I just did probably the coolest thing in game I've come across so far. I'll put it in spoilers.
Click To View Spoiler In Saint Denis if you go to the show and it's the one with the two guys doing magic tricks with a gun. At one point he gets heckled from a guy in the audience who says it's fake. He stops the show and calls for a volunteer to come up and attempt to shoot him with their own gun. If you get up and approach the stage he tells you to take aim and shoot. I aimed for his stomach and actually hurt him to the point he complains that you shot him. I don't know if shooting him anywhere else affects the outcome but I found it funny.

I'm late to the party and just ordered and am downloading now. Have another hour or so before it's ready.
While I'm still trying to read the last 36 pages of info, I know I won't be able to. Any suggestions on getting started? Things to do, not do, etc? |

Anybody else have trouble with the dueling system? I must be missing something because I die fully 90% of the time there's a duel. The one bounty that results in a duel must have killed me 8 or 9 times.
I see you're supposed to "slowly press R2" but I don't see any indicators for how long or when I should stop, etc. Apparently I either wait too long and die or release too soon and nothing happens. It's annoying to the point I'd rather they weren't even in the game. Edited, because my phone prefers the wrong spelling of 'too'. |

Bottom right corner shows the R2 button and a circle kinda loads around it when you softly push it. You don't want to load it all the way because you'll be drawn on and shot. I usually fill half way then press down R2 hard to draw and I have plenty of time to hit my mark. It took a bit to figure out because they really don't explain it well. View Quote |

Have not kept up with thread.
Just finished the game, credits just got done rolling. I felt connected to Arthur and the story, also felt connected to the epilogue which was fantastic. Game reminded me of why I loved the first one. Totally down for Red Dead Redemption 3.... Starring Sadie Addler. Not guilty. |

Look up the gold hack and be rich the entire game. View Quote Speaking of outfits, I didn't care anything about them other than changing my hat... until yesterday. A guy that I saved from a snake bite offered to buy me anything in the general store. I browsed the outfits since they are the most expensive. Now I feel the need to recreate outfits from movies (Clint's Pale Rider & Man With No Name, Val Kilmer's Doc Holliday, etc). I'm still on chapter 2, because I keep getting side tracked by stuff like this. What a great game! |

By the way since this thread keeps coming and going (and eventually with the so many threads in GD it’s eventually going to get archived) we have a thread over in the gaming section of ar15.com. When online comes out I’m going to post peoples handles and their respective platforms so we can get together online.

Just got off work, picking up an electric fireplace for the wife, and settling in for some bloody Mary's and RDR action when I get home. Games addicting.

Just to put it out there- Make sure you watch the credits upon completion. Quite a few clips of game story that you wouldn't otherwise see. I normally just skip but heard to watch, was well worth it.

Why don't they just have full nudity in this game? It seems like a totally adult themed game anyway.

Ok, I need some help. I don't get the hunting/legendary/crafting/satchel thing.
I've killed the Legendary Bison; got killed shortly after and got lost it. I have noticed it's showing up at the fence. I've just now killed the Legendary Boar. I get that there's other things I need to craft shit but why the fuck is this so annoying? I can only carry like I've big item on my horse. I've been trying to get shit to increase my satchels but can't seem to grasp how the fuck you do this and I'm starting to get really frustrated. Maybe I just don't have the patience for it. I'm literally still on chapter 2 and I just seem to kind of wander around on my horse with no real direc. It's beginning to remind new why I never finished the first RDR. |

Anyone notice that after buying an expensive horse that attempted horse-jackings tend to occur more often?

Still in Chapter 3. Been trying to get everything for the camp and at the trapper before getting too far ahead of myself. Found a Trihorn hat and Viking helmet last night.
Am I the only one that when I sit down to play I want to throw my Western belt/holster with my Blackhawk on and sit in front of the fire next to my lever action. Wish I never sold my horses |

I do have to admit that I am curious if sniping someone from a distance would get a wanted. Like say you're on a hillside just outside of Valentine for instance.

View Quote Satchels are upgraded by Pearson (at the chuckwagon) in camp. You have to upgrade the camp first (through the ledger at Dutch's tent) in order to unlock the leather working tools. Once that's done, you can start upgrading the satchels. Again, the menu will show you the required ingredients for each satchel. In addition to three perfect pelts/skins per satchel, there is also an additional requirement for each one; such as upgrading the camp provisions wagon, donating $50 to camp funds, etc. Before gathering stuff for the satchels, though, track down the Legendary Buck so you can get the Buck Antler Trinket. It'll help with getting those perfect pelts. |
