A stupid board/card game I bought a decade ago for $10.00 last I saw was selling for over $100 because it is out of print A 1975 Fender bass I bought in 1988 for $300 is now going for over $2500. Stanleys are so 2023. They are already on their way out. Owala is the next cool water bottle.

Guess the modern woman nowadays needs something big to hold in their hands constantly and suck on.

I’ve had one for years, mainly because it can keep ice frozen through 18 holes of golf during the Florida summer.

Quoted: Ah yes, the GD dog pile. I’ve got one I got last summer, a 40oz in basic black. Here’s how I roll with it- Keep it in the freezer. Remove from freezer. Dump in a shot of Bacardi Limon. Squeeze in a bit of fresh lime. Dump in three ice cold Landshark lagers. Sip away. View Quote Ahh yes. The non critical thinker. You are not able to do this with any other tumbler? It requires a Stanley? And paying x times pricing is dog pileable for a mediocre cup. |

Combine hype, fear of missing out phenomenon, and the general emotional nature of women and you get this interesting situation.

People were literally trampling each other for the Starbucks ones a couple weeks ago. Ever seen someone get trampled for an Owala bottle? Owala sucks anyway. Bought one for each of my kids at the beginning of the school year. The flip lids broke in about 2 days. Replaced them with $10 Nalgene bottles and they've been carrying them every day since. Drop them in the parking lot, throw them down a flight of stairs, they're g2g. |

I wanted a large 40 oz tumbler for work. I’ve used old school Stanley thermos for treats, so when I saw a large Stanley tumbler with integral handle I thought one.
I knew nothing about the current fad. I found out the first day I had it at work I’ve seen all the crazy junk they make to hang off these tumblers. Maybe I should get a mag holder accessory so I can walk around with a reload. |
|
Go price any of Stanley's old style green crinkle shit. It's not cheap either.
I use a Stanley 64oz growler at work. It's beat to shit. Had it for years now. |

Quoted: In my experience, my Contigo mugs are way better at keeping coffee hot for longer than any yeti I have tried. I have filled a Contigo mug at 7am and not opened it until noon at work and the coffee is still steaming. When I did the same with a mag lid yeti, the coffee was lukewarm at best. View Quote The Contigos are the shit. And spill proof; the only mug I’ll ever put in my flight bag. |

In this thread, we have guys who spend thousands of dollars collecting and decorating rifles making fun of little girls spending a few bucks doing the same with cups.

My wife, daughter, sister-in-law, mother-in-law all wanted one for Christmas, so that's what they got- didn't think anything of it.
I didn't know it was a fad until like a week or two ago. I work from home, so I'm not exactly up all on the fads. Apparently if you walk into a college lecture hall, nursing station at a hospital, Teacher break room, they're all filled with Stanley 40 oz cups. There are worse things to worry about.....at least the women in my life are staying hydrated. I like the previous posters idea about filling a 40oz tumbler with three beers. |

A mom called out parents in a viral TikTok earlier this week, claiming she bought her daughter a name-brand Stanley cup after her peers at school mocked her for toting her under $10 Walmart knock-off. "Can we afford to buy her a Stanley? Yes. Did I think that she needed one? No," Dayna Motycka told her followers earlier this week. "Apparently I’ve been proven wrong by the children in our school that are making fun of her for not having a real name-brand Stanley." Motycka showed the cheetah print pink and white insulated tumbler she purchased for $9.98, saying her daughter thought it was "cute." After coming back to school from the holidays, Motycka's daughter was "upset" about the way other girls, many of whom got Stanley Cups for Christmas, criticized the knock-off and made sure to let her know it wasn't a "real Stanley." |

Saw a commercial for some depression medication last night. It was filmed from the POV of a woman walking around. In her hand and taking up 1/4 of the screen from her POV, was a Stanley cup looking mug
|
|
To be fair, the lid screws in, it has a straw gasket and some other design stuff I like.
It won't spill or leak much at all if it tips over, which I think is nice. That being said, I'll get one someday; I have enough Tervis and WalMart brand cups with lids. |
|
I've had the same Stanley thermos and travel mug, the old green ones, for ~30 years. Still use them nearly every day that I leave home.
Wonder if I'm a cool guy now? |
