So will this be the season 7 episodes that they had planned 5 years ago?
Also they need to quit fucking around and make The Rise of Vader. Then get the Old Republic stories going. Even cover the Mandalore vs Jedi war. |

I haven’t read through the thread but I just thought I’d chime in. I was at the panel this morning. It’s hard to put into words how cool it was. At the end of the panel they announced the continuation of the show and played a trailer. I don’t know if it’s been put online yet but I did a shitty ipotato video of the whole thing.
The best part was I ran into Dave Filoni on the con floor and got a picture with him. I shook his hand and thanked him for creating the best Star Wars content to ever be put on screen. Highlight of my nerd life. I know some of you are big Clone Wars/Rebels fans so you’ll understand. I’d post pictures but I’m a freeloader and have been drinking. I’ll check back in this thread later and maybe get some pictures up. #clone wars saved |

Sorry, thread is too long to read and I won't understand it all anyway.
Are you talking about the cartoon that's on Netflix? My son watches it and has somehow become obsessed with Star Wars. He asks me questions and not having seen the movies myself, I can't answer them. I've got the first six movies coming on Monday and we're going to watch them together so I can understand the story. I understand there is a story between the movies. Is this cartoon part of that? |

No, it was created prior to Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm. Lucas himself was executive producer, but the show runner was Dave Filoni, who IMO is the only person left at Disney fit to have creative control over the franchise. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

It's kind of funny that you can have a character like Ashoka Tano...strong female, that pretty much EVERYONE likes, but then they try making new strong female SJW characters and fuck them up so much with the SJW shit nobody likes them.
Tano is just a straight up bad ass, that people like us like...but since SJW types hate us, they don't want characters like Tano. I just hope they keep Kennedy away from anything that has to do with her. |

Agreed. I think it’s because Ahsoka doesn’t have that “screw men, I AM WOMYN” kind of history and personality that the new characters do. She’s a badass because of her skills and her menta and physical toughness, and in Rebels she has found a great deal of wisdom and maturity. What you get is the best-written and most-loved character still alive after the OT, and one Disney should be paying a lot more attention to. View Quote Eta- all I can find is "sometime next year". |

Quoted: Exactly. Ashley Eckstein, the voice of Ahsoka, said yesterday during the panel that one thing that makes Ahsoka endearing is the fact that she has actual character development from a snotty brat to a seasoned and respected warrior. The audience’s reaction toward the character changed correspondingly from one of hatred to loving the character, and Eckstein said this was in large part due to the time taken to carefully develop the character over the years. As she was saying this, Filoni nodded in agreement. It’s clear that they knew the basic concept of the hero’s journey and applied it well. You get none of this in the new trilogy. Snips grew so much over the series and when she didn't come back to the order, that hit in the feels, just like when she battled Vader and cracked his mask and hear Anakin call her name. You think about what all those two went through and the bond they had, from what Anakin was to her and what he had became. That had to kill her on the inside. That was a sad scene too. |

I want to like the Clone Wars series. It's just too much noise for too little signal. Yes, there are bits and pieces periodically that add to the Star Wars story from the movies. But 87% of the content is mindless, pointless battles. Even the little taglines they put on each episode are sometimes really unsupported by the thin content. Yeah, it's a kids show. It looks like it. I just don't see it as more than that.
ETA - all that being said, Ahsoka is my favorite character, and the relationship between her and Anakin is the best thing in the series. |
