Could be a long lens causing compression. There is also a snorkel, fwiw. You can see the rear passenger side door handle in the shot so I'm guessing a bit of photo trickery. A similar handle can be seen here which is what made it click when I looked at it again: Quoted: Yea. J150 was side hinged tho. Overhead hinge gave an opportunity - but it's a world model so. . . Its on a new frame but that rear tailgate looks exactly like a 5th gen tailgate with a new garnish on it?

It’s gonna be great.
Don’t see myself switching out of my 5th gen though. Also, that screen is going to play havoc on people driving at night. I can’t figure out how so many people have that much bright stuff in their faces, even in dark mode, and can still see. |

View Quote I don’t exactly follow the theory of screens at night, but what annoys me is that the rest of the world gets nice buttons to turn the screens off at will but for “some reason” we can’t have nice things here. I know the current gens can be turned off if you go into menu hell but what about a nice button? |

I'm glad they kept the Dust Vortex™, that's bigly helpful when sleeping in it and having the rear window down a few inches for ventilation while it's raining out.

The LC is (or should be) wider, that may be a deciding factor. I’m on the list for a GX550, that thing is wider than the LX600 (iirc) and as wide as my F150.
Surprised Toyota didn’t fuck up and remove the roll down rear window, since Toyota likes to fuck things up. They need to offer the GX550 V6 in the LC250/Taco/4R. Toy also needs to stop putting dinky size fuel tanks in their SUV/Trucks. I liked that I could black out the interior lighting in my Gen4 with the illum wheel. I can’t in my F150, I had to chop up a blackout curtain from AMZ and put velcro spots on parts of the dash. |

I have a deposit on the new LC but I'm pumped to see this new 4runner.
Just hope it has enough power. |

It IS time Toyota builds a new gen and YES I am glad they heard the the roll down rear window had to stay (possibly one of the 4Runner's best features and certainly one of the most popular). I am 64 and a long time 4Runner owner. I am on my fourth one now that I bought new in 2019. It is a TRD ORP. I am kind of old school and I wanted it because it doesn't have some of the weird stuff I didn't need that was offered on other models at the time (lane assist, push button start etc) but is otherwise very well appointed. It has been a fantastic vehicle for me and is my daily driver and after 5 years it still only has around 26k miles and so (based on my experience of their legendary longevity) I probably will never need to buy another one. But I am certainly looking forward to watching how the gen 6 does.
